Adam Silver looks like an Auschwitz cancer patient in a suit.

I'm going to agree with CuntWaffle in another thread, number 2 all time. The science is settled IMHO.
-
Classy post. Good luck the rest of the way!
-
I love LeBron.
-
LBJ now deserves to be talked about as a Top 5 player of all time now and the comparisons against Bird's record are now very relevant with what LBJ has accomplished
-
I have a hard time putting him ahead of Russell. I think he's very strongly in consideration for #3.allpurpleallgold said:I'm going to agree with CuntWaffle in another thread, number 2 all time. The science is settled IMHO.

I have a hard time putting him ahead of Kareem or Magic at this point ... Bird's spot is getting close to if not passed ...dnc said:

Long way to go between Jordan/Russell and everybody else -
I probably go Magic 3 LeBron 4 Kareem 5, but I think you can rank those 3 in any order and I wouldn't be too upset.Tequilla said:

I would probably rank Magic ahead of Kareem as well (we are likely in the minority on that) because to me those Lakers championships were fueled by Magic with Kareem in the 1B role more often than not ...
In the end though, Kareem has more titles, more records, more longevity, etc ... we need to see where LBJ ends up there
Kareem was equally as genetically superior as a big as LBJ is as a wing ... we probably give LBJ too much credit in that due to recency bias -
Kareem only has two NBA Finals MVP's, for me that's the biggest indicator of someone's dominance (LeBron now has 3). Assuming Kareem didn't lose one to some BS like Iguodala winning last year, that's the differentiator to me. That and the fact he only one won ring in four seasons with Big O, who's better than anyone LeBron ever played with.
I'm pretty comfortable with Kareem at 5. I think the Magic vs LeBron argument would be a good one. -
That was an older version of O ... and there were some dominant teams in the league at that time ...
Biggest criticism of Kareem to me is that he never won without another alpha besides him ... he certainly isn't one of my favorites -
Magic and Kareem aren't even the best Laker ever.

Grandpa Race says it was Mikan. He was there after all...

I heart me some Kobe, but I can't put him ahead of Magic.allpurpleallgold said:Magic and Kareem aren't even the best Laker ever.

Magic was 5 and 4 in the Finals. Lebron is 3 and 4 and counting. It's getting close. Magic played on better teams.
-
Why do we have to rank players all-time? Why can't we just be classy and pass the orange slices?
No one was dominant enough to have the league retire their number outright. Therefore, Wayne Gretzky is the greatest NBA player of all time. Followed by Pele. -
P.S. Shaq is the greatest Laker.

You just hate white guys.dnc said:

I for one was in awe in his performance the last 3 games. With those performances, He has moved to the number 2-A spot all time. I hate to be THAT guy who discounts the old timers talents. But if the 50's-60's era's greats had to go up against the length and athleticism of players in the last 30 years, they wouldn't be as dominating.
I put Lebron above Bird, but side by side with Magic. At least for now. -
That and My 2 dad's said that He sometimes played aloof and didn't always hustle down the court and He really only tried hard come playoffs.Tequilla said:That was an older version of O ... and there were some dominant teams in the league at that time ...

Why don't you try dragging Bob Lanier up and down the court all night and then pop off?salemcoog said:

Salem coug is jimmy - do you like movies about gladiators?

Duncan is already getting slept on. He dominated from day one and played at a high level until 40. He was an automatic 20 and 12 for years and always played better in the playoffs.
I remember him regularly doninating the good Steve Nash Suns' teams. There was a large stretch where he was the best player in the league.
Duncan was the best post player, maybe the best rebounder, and the best big guy defender in the league for a long time. -
Why Duncan is a top 10 caliber player ... but I have a hard time putting him in that Top 5 level ... but he isn't that far removed
