But how was Pool Boy a shit AD?

A University of Washington regent slammed former athletic director Scott Woodward on Thursday, saying Woodward did not let the governing board know about a growing deficit in the UW athletic department’s budget.
Regent Jeremy Jaech, the board’s vice chair, described it as “a bad-faith effort” on Woodward’s part to use one-time money, paid in advance to UW for multimedia advertising, and apply it to the budget. Jaech called it “an attempt to make the numbers look better than they really were.”
The bad news here is that the regents already think Jen needs more time.

Do they not understand that she's worked there for 18 years? Lol fmfyfe.
Also, you buried the lede. School of Dentistry default. -
Another post departure profiles in courage article from the times to show WDWHA, and 'you have no idea the damage he did'
Jen will have no accountability, we are fuckt -
Even @GrandpaSankey can see that this is a ploy to shield their most recent "hire" from any responsibility. -
@puppylove_sugarsteel 's silence on this latest revelation speaks volumes
"Uh base, you asked for this. I told you the DAY after the stadium builder left that UW would hire a woman. Your dumbass kicked the resurrector of UW FOOTBALL in the ass out. You werent around for Babs, nor 70% of you here..." -
Pumpy good at everything
-
Sark wasn't the AD.
-
the Regents are furious and aren't going to take it anymore! No more blindly signing the bottom of reports and checks if this outrageous behavior is the result!!! In fact, the solution to such a complex financial problem is to... hire a new AD completely inexperienced in resolving financial issues and leading an athletics department to actual success. Long Live Cohen!!!!
-
Remember when UW the envy of the Pac-10 (and most of the nation) with its robustly cashflow positive athletic department? And that was long before the era of P12Net and lucrative TV contracts. The Huskies kicked off at 12:30 p.m., filled the stadium, smoked weed, talked shit, won a lot, and operated comfortably in the black. UW could even afford ostentatious luxuries like swimming and wrestling back then.
Fuck every single motherfucker who has set foot in Tubby Graves over the past 25 years. Including Cohen12. -
#putsvenincharge

I'm sure Cohen knew nothing about the fact they were fooling the regents with this money trick. Its not like she's been in the AD for almost twenty years, worked very closely with Woodward and knows everything about the finances of the athletic department.
Great hire, as always... NOW WIN -
Where's Pumpy? Twat something out of that cunt of yours!

I like to pretend schools dont spend margin money at every chance they are given.
I like to do that. -
I actually do remember that. But then, I have a really good memory.TTJ said:Remember when UW the envy of the Pac-10 (and most of the nation) with its robustly cashflow positive athletic department? The only thing to save this shit show is Bull Moose is running this kind of deficit annually and will for the foreseeable future.
At least UW has the potential to turn it around quickly. The Cuogs need a Hail Mary every fucking year. -
UW has a structural deficit of $10mm for every year for 20 years. The only semblance of competence is coach Pete. If he can build a winner than the AD's incompetence will be glossed over. If not, stadium default.

I find it amusing when supposedly smart people try to shift accountability to people that have left when it happened right under their noses and if they weren't complicit in it should have known about it.

Clearly you're not referring to the Jim Owens' days.TTJ said:Remember when UW the envy of the Pac-10 (and most of the nation) with its robustly cashflow positive athletic department? Apparently the board of regents didn't ask why in the "other" column of the budget there was a 10 million dollar credit, that allowed the budget to almost balance....Tequilla said:I find it amusing when supposedly smart people try to shift accountability to people that have left when it happened right under their noses and if they weren't complicit in it should have known about it.
And that's suddenly Woodward's fault? Keep selling it Regent Jaech. I'm SURE there's someone out there that will believe you. -
Hopefully, there won't be UW accounting student who do.godawgst said:

I'm not a Woodward fan so don't go twisting, but I am thankful we had someone in there who was insistent on getting the stadium done by whatever means necessary. When you're not winning and you're trying to play nice and by the rules at UW you don't get that stadium done.
Now everyone needs to nut the fuck up and realize they gotta fix the budget -
define "everyone"
-
Everyone who was there while all this was happening but is acting like they just showed up
-
Just charge 100 per student . Everyone else does it.
-
so let me be sure I understand some of you... you're happy that a nepotistic little asshat like Woody got a stadium built without knowing how to pay for it and call him a success even though the team has continued to suck balls for going on 16 years.
Wouldn't you rather have an amazing team and the unrenovated stadium? -
The best answer is always abundance.
All im saying is it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission, this isn't an impossible hole to get out of unless they're going to play the blame game. -
Just more justification for the hire of Sloppy Tits SDSU.TierbsHsotBoobs said:http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/education/uw-regents-assail-ex-athletic-director-over-growing-deficit/

If you can't identify the timing and agenda, PM Hondo - you will have fun talking in circles. -
