This is what Kevin Williamson wrote recently about low-income whites:
"The truth about these dysfunctional, downscale communities is that they deserve to die. Economically, they are negative assets. Morally, they are indefensible. Forget all your cheap theatrical Bruce Springsteen crap. Forget your sanctimony about struggling Rust Belt factory towns. . . . The white American underclass is in thrall to a vicious, selfish culture whose main products are misery and used heroin needles. Donald Trump’s speeches make them feel good. So does OxyContin."
That's an appalling statement, coming from the party that invented the drug war in the 70s and pushed it into overdrive in the 80s. Sadly those same sentiments are also held all too often by the Clintonite wing of the Democratic Party.

As long as we can acknowledge that it's true on both sides, I'm fine with this. The GOP is such a shitshow that I have never voted Republican for President. And I fucking hate the Democratic party.

Now if he'd written that poor Americans of all races have been victimized by economic policies designed to move capital away from labor, and a medical industry incentivized to prescribe pain pills by the gallon, then yeah, he might have a point.

And the solution from the left is to move capital under the state's control, ignoring the fact that the state is responsible for creating the current situation. It's almost like these guys are working together to consolidate power in the form of crony capitalism.
