That story did not address one of their other fine student athletes who is serving 20 years after 5 rape investigations and other females coming forward. Some of whom said that the school ignored their requests for help on the matter.

I'd always wanted to see Briles do well. Didn't know too much about him but career high school guy, I was living down in Houston and his UofH teams were fun to watch. At the time he took the Baylor job, the SEC had Vandy and the Big12 had Baylor. They were so bad I thought it'd be cool if Briles made them into a decent team once in a while.
But this guy is fucking ruthless and about as shady as they come. Ha I can't believe he didn't get hassled more for basically calling Peterman a liar. -
I don't know that much about Briles personally other than he puts his head in the sand a lot and claims he doesn't know anything ... probably the perfect attribute to be a coach at Baylor.
His resume as a football coach is impressive and he's done it mostly working outside of the main cities in Texas ... so I can respect that.
But he's also the perfect kind of guy for Baylor (Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss is right in this area as well) where they are talented coaches that have taken non-traditional routes to get to major colleges and all they are asked to do is a) be a good coach and b) either initiate shady recruiting and/or turn a blind eye when shady things happen in or around the program.
Baylor's been the whipping child of all of the Texas schools for a while. They pretty much got to the point of being willing to do anything other than that ... of course not realizing that the reason they get laughed at is because they are Baylor and full of a bunch of bible thumping prudish Baptists that are as hypocritical as they come ... but I digress.
There are some areas of Texas that I really like ... but fuck Waco with a rusty cheese grater. -
