    Merriam-Webster Says:

    Simple Definition of socialism
: a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies

    Full Definition of socialism
    1
: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
    2
a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
    3
: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

My definition is a bunch of ideologues gain power and then become the elite, Control everything, squeeze every penny out of the system and live like kings. As they gain power they kill any opposition or send them to forced labor camps. They exterminate the educated and reeducate the uneducated to follow the great system. Then the economy turns to mush and the masses live in poverty.

Seems to be how it's gone so far!

After reading that, most people should be able to figure out that Bernie isn't a socialist.

Your simple brain seems to need simple labels to understand the world.

History repeats itself. Oh and does the government takeover of GM ring a bell?

Maybe I'll ask the 2 guys I know that lived in Cambodia when the Khmer Rouge took over to explain it to you. Maybe people I've talked to from Russia, East Germany etc. etc. You are a dumb as a mud fence.

Bernie says he's a socialist. So therefore Bernie is a socialist.

I'm still trying to figure out how our government had authority seized a private company that had violated no laws. Maybe you can esplain that Lucy?

The irony is that Sanders has no issue with being called a socialist or democratic socialist and his base has no problem with it either. His movement is based on moving America towards socialism. He is honest. Not sure why so many here want to deny the sky is blue.

Do you think Sanders is too stupid to know who he is? What party is he a member of? It's not the Democratic Party

    Hope this helps

I don't think anyone is voting for government ownership of businesses.
