UW gives its blessing for creation of Don James statue

A group of former Husky players, led by Jimmy Rodgers and Mike Ewaliko, met with administrators from the UW earlier this week and received blessing for a project to build a statue of the late Don James for Husky Stadium. Former player Matt Hicks will be the one creating the actual statue. Carol James has given her blessing.

It stands to reason the statue will be placed near the existing one of Jim Owens, but that hasn't been determined yet. A fundraising event will begin during Spring ball.

    They've given their blessing for the creation of a statue. That doesn't mean they'll actually put it up. Some of you need to learn the difference.

    Glad to hear this is moving along but it's UW. I'll believe it when I see it.

    This cannot be true as the new lesbo President hates football...just what I'm hearing.
