Obviously it isn't just tackling that causes head injury. All of the emphasis is on tackling. There is helmet to helmet contact all over the field on every play in every game. It sounds like a typical ivory tower type of idea without being grounded in reality.

What the fuck is this argument?

you guys are just watching the running back. If you've played on the line, eg., you know there is constant helmet to helmet contact. Just banning tackling is only the tip of the iceburg.

basically that is the point. You never heard stories of guys that played football with just leather helmets having lifelong brain debilitation. Why? Because they drank themselves to death first. Seriously, it's because when helmets became safe *enough* they were used as a big part of the collision. So in order to stop brain injury you need to fundamentally change the game. Tackling has some of the worst head injuries, but you could have a guy fly airborne at you blocking, take a knee to the head, or whatever.

True, but lets all be honest. If this goes any further, people are going to stop watching.

Well, I agree. Part of the fun part has always been the violence.

    No they won't.

It's like people that say they will leave the country if X or Z gets elected President.

Killer Salem . But Hockey players will be playing with a whiffle puck and little johhny wont play at all. Libs will get hands on it and nobody will watch it. Nobody watches t h e others

Rugby dudes are mean mofo's. Just started watching it, I better enjoy it while it lasts. Way tougher than football players. Big Fast dudes. UW ought go to BC and offer their pro rugby players who have eligibilty . Those guys are nature big, put them in a UW weightroom and theyd make the football players look like Chunk from Goonies. They hit harder than the beavs without pads. Soccer moms will ruin it though. Cunt on it.! Dont marry Splitter, she'll change you too. I promise.

Where were we Salem? Hows the steelheading? Tommy, hows the dj tonight?

Would people watch MMA if they got rid of head shots completely?

Would people watch Rugby if there was no tackling?

Would people watch Hockey if there was no checking?

La Crosse and Boxing don't deserve to be mentioned,

    La Crosse is rarely watched.

Without Mayweather, boxing is dead. Thanks in large part to MMA
