Rubio and Cruz are grasping at straws. One will be out after tonight.
Romney is trying to save any last glimmer of dignity after running one of the most incompetent general election campaigns in modern history.
What benefit does Trump have releasing it anyways? He just has to deny it, and nothing happens. If it gets released, it either supports his stance or doesn't. It's a republican primary issue, not a general election issue. Either way it will ruin any shred of credibility the NY Times has left. There won't be one politician having a sit down with them again. How do they know what they say off the record, will really be off the record?
The Democrats don't benefit from this. What are they going to say? See... he's a liar he's not going to build a wall after all. Isn't that what the democrats are running on right now...not building a wall? -
The way to defeat Trump is to just keep having all the candidates agree to keep bringing up discussions about race. He'll say something KKK-like eventually.
Prime him to get very angry...then bring up racial stuff. Game over. -
Hillary doesn't have the ability to zing Trump. She isn't funny, it'll come off as awkward and forced. Hillary will be the one that gets upset, and will probably lose her cool. I'd also be more afraid of Bill. Trump is like RR, Clinton and Obama in that when he talks to the people all the nasty shit the media says about them seems stupid. Trump is not a racist. That's a fact. Calling him one loses credibility.
This season the usual playbook won't work. His kick ass presser last night was great. He looked way more Presidential than Cruz or Little Marco who spent the night nipping at his heels -
