Every other assistant on the team received a two year extension. It's make or break for Babushka. UW has finished 9th in the conference in offense the past two seasons. He's clearly on a short leash with Petersen. Finish top-3 in the conference or get your ass back to Missoula.

If it is any consolation... no other power-5 conference team, or any NCAA Div 1 team for that matter, is going to try and hire him away from you. So him staying another year helps you guys keep your football coaches part of the budget in your AD's office, at target, for this year. Which is always a cool thing in terms of helping the UW Athl. Dept. allocate their sports budget to all of the other teams that we all care about -- you know, like girls basketball and softball and vollyball and your other teams where the players know how to win.
