I don't have a problem with them calling him the 78th best WR in the country.
But being the 78th best WR in the country means that you are a 4 star? Star inflation is no joke.

ESPN grossly overrates recruits in the South to the detriment of ever other region.
My buddy did a study of which states produce the most pro athletes (football, baseball and basketball). The south produces the most NFL guys but if I remember correctly the west is a very close #2. ESPN basically has the south completely dominating their rankings to the extreme. My buddy pointed this out to Tom Luginbill and told him ESPN's rating of prospects is completely out of touch with reality. Needless to say Luginbill didn't take it too well. -
Your buddy should post here. Seriously, I was looking for @DawgPassion206's demographic research unsuccessfully the other day. One of my favorite classy poasters.HeretoBeatmyChest said:ESPN grossly overrates recruits in the South to the detriment of ever other region.

I was going to say the same thing but without grouping Chin with McGrew and Twattenburg. But I just found out that Chin is a better prospect than Love.Hippopeteamus said:According to ESPN: Chin=Mcgrew=Wattanberg>Love

I find it funny that ESPN has 3 UW recruits in the top 300 while Scout has 7. That's a pretty fucking big discrepancy. I know everyone will have their opinion on a player but when you're talking about the top 300 in the country, these should be kids that are projected as at least solid starters for BCS schools. So to have two services that stalk teen boys for a living disagree that much shows what a farce most of these sites are. Especially when you know that guys like F3 and Ektard are the ones doing the rankings and 24/7 has Jacob Kizer as the 878th best player in the country. Really? I'd love to hear a couple "experts" explain why #877 just edged Kizer for that spot because of his loose hips. What a joke.

The west is California. The South is a bunch of statesHeretoBeatmyChest said:ESPN grossly overrates recruits in the South to the detriment of ever other region.

Since ESPN started being apart of the Under Armour AA game, their rankings have also been skewed towards players committed to the game. It's all a shell game. It's not a shock that people such as Dmc will rate guys higher as it makes the TBS crowd BRB JO time happen more often rather than the reality of call me when these players translate to wins.
It's all a big money grab and it's sad far too many grown men stalk teen boys and aren't prosecuted for it. -

I don't get the Chin hate. He looks long and fast. Redshirt him, ingest some roids, and LIPO.

I think people are mainly pissed that we whiffed on our first 30 WR targets. I think Chin could be good, but not for another few years. He'd break in half right now.Doogles said:I don't get the Chin hate. He looks long and fast. Redshirt him, ingest some roids, and LIPO.

I'm willing to LIFPO with him. Hopefully he's locked in the weight room with Socha and a huge bag of roids for two years.HuskyClaws said:

I hate to break the circlejerk, but doogman has no input into Scout's rankings.DugtheDoog said:Especially when you know that guys like F3 and Ektard are the ones doing the rankings
