Arians is a solid coach. He's 34-14 in AZ, 9-3 in Indy. Where's the criticism coming from?

Totally agree, he's legit. Top 5 NFL coach, might be top 3.

With Belichick being the clear number 1, the next tier in some order is Carroll, Harbaugh, Arians, Payton, Rivera... Can't think of anyone else that is deserving of this tier. Tom Coughlin was on that tier as well.

Agree except Coughlin. I know, he's got two rings, but otherwise he was not very good. His GM didn't help him out much either, I realize that. But I'd put him in tier 3. And I think I agree with the order you have the tier two guys.

He still has to prove he isn't an Andy Reid, but I agree. 34-14 is damn good.

Andy Reid came from the Mike Holmgren coaching tree of eating and clock management.

The older you get the more you realize how many coaches suck at clock management and other game adjustments. Even some good winning coaches. Les Miles among many

Speaking of clock management, Pete fucked up the final rally by not trying to score faster with about 7-8 minutes remaining, which left them with only the onside.

Who's better than him that I didn't name? If you say McCarthy or Tomlin I'll laugh.

That was by design. I'm sure he didn't want to score too soon, as that would take some of the drama out of the game.
