Can someone ask Pete what it feels like having a freshman running back make you look competent.

And as a follow up: and who has bailed you and Smith's ass the last half of the year

Petersen and (especially) JSmithFS deserve plenty of criticism, but they get earned some praise for identifying and playing Gaskin more and more. It should have been even more than what we got, but the staff recruited and rode him to several wins.

Wonder what Don James would have done with Gaskin. Or Chip Kelly for that matter. Or Saban, Harvbaugh, Meyer Belichick, etc. See the trend here?

Gaskin would be at ASU if it wasn't for Peterman

It's not like it's his job is to recruit kids literally 5 miles away from campus or anything. I guess he gets paid for nothing.

I liked the hike-to-gaskin play. What they should do is design a GASKIN-RUMBLE play like have two tight ends and nothing but blocking backs in the backfield. When hiked gaskin just runs wherever there is daylihgt. I mean, don't Xs and Os a damn thing. Not even the offense would know where it was supposed to go... nothing but gaskin juking.

Who knew that giving Gaskin carries and being "stubborn" with the run would help the entire offense?

Hard to say who knew, but sadly our OC and his HC would be ones we could put in the "didn't know" category.

We have had great RB's but 7-6 records aren't really bailing Sark and Pete out.

    Millions of doogs would disagree.

Chip had JJ, Snoop, LGB, LaMike, and Barner who were all much better than Gaskin and they were all 1,000 yard backs.

Snoop is in the Pro-Bowl this year, JJ was the best back in the conference as a senior, LGB starts for the best franchise in the NFL, LaMike won the Doak Walker, and Barner was the best back in the conference in his last year.

Oregon has had an elite running back since Reuben Droughns and has one now who is better than Gaskin and will have one as long as Gary Campbell is around.

Gaskin would have gotten a few carries at Oregon this year, but with Tyner back next he'd never see the field. He's a nice back for a .500 program but don't get carried away.

"Nice back" like RichRod is a great coach?

Or, "nice back" like "that was a GOOD Utah team?"

Nice backhanded bullshit compliment, as always.

Mosster must be a woosh account. No one is that fucking stupid.

In 2017 Duck fans would give up their left nut to have Gaskin.

Gaskin is better than any of those Oregon running backs as a freshman. The fact he is playing on UW makes it more impressive

Under Don James, Gaskin would have finished the season with about 350 yds, not starting until the Oregon St. Game. Coleman would have been the main back, and finish the season with exactly 1000 yds in 10 games. 25 carries a games, ala Greg Lewis. Need 3 yds, he'll get you 4. Need 5 yds, he'll get you 4. Williams and Lindquist would each start 6 games as DJ ain't playing no Fr QB. We? Would win quite a few games 13-10. Race would want him fired after only getting 3 first downs in the win over Oregon.
    This is so real.
Disagree. Time have changed and DJ would have changed with them, as he showed when he went to the one-back late in his career. He would have have Napoleon carry more.
