It's not just about the physical standards. It's about the psyche and the factors at play when you throw women into combat. We all know how work place romance begins, strictly from proximity and commonality. Soldiers will be falling in love and making irrational decisions based on emotion in the heat of combat.
Save the woman and children first is a standard cry during any evacuation. What happens when the mission calls to put a woman unit in a compromising position in order to successfully carry out the mission? Do we still execute effectively? Do we fail or abort in the name of saving women?
