Shaka Smart's an actual coach. You know, like runs sets, studies film, exploits weaknesses. Something told me first game of the year, don't know what to expect, so now Shaka has something called a gameplan and was going to exploit us.

Something that just drives me crazy about Romar is he plays fucking rat ball yet for the most part refuses to run a press on defense. If you're going to run chaos and have no direction on offense, but refuse to pressure the basketball on defense just makes no sense. Especially because when he experiments with it briefly, it fucking works.
But then again, this from a coach who hasn't learned how to draw up an inbounds play in 18 years as a head coach -

These kids are talented, play hard, and will be good in time ... but expecting them to improve a ton through work from the staff or for Romar to put them in positions to be successful leaves a lot to be desired. The only unknown on the coaching staff is Will Conroy who is an intense MoFo ... but the rest is pretty much known.
