Now taking questions for the podcast

We're recording at 7PM. Any questions for former Huskies Kyle Benn and Mike Monan?
Today's podcast will be a difficult one in which to be positive, but we will try. Maybe we'll breakdown the keys to Washington's 34-24 win over Purdue in the 2001 Rose Bowl.

Why does our offense look like shit everywhere? How much of it is youth, coaching, Indian burial grounds? When can we expect it to look better?
-
Two simple questions. Do they like what they're seeing? Is the team on track to become the Husky standard us old fucks remember (Don James Dawgs)?
-
Let's say Scott Woodward has been fired as athletic director and *you* have been named as his replacement. What do you do to fix the football program?
Edit: @DugtheDoog asked a similar question on another board, so throw him some FREE PUB! as well. -
More of a personal request. I've been out of the area for a long time. If Mike is still in touch with teammates, ask him to say hi to Mark Larsen from a fellow sufferer of Bartlett's circuit training.
-
Will the offense improve next year? And if the offense does improve; do you think the defense will regress in proportion to the improvement on offense?
-
Why should I continue tuning in to this clown show?

How many touchdowns will Fauk throw against us in the Apple Cup?

Who primarily calls the blocking assignments for the OL? Do the OL communicate with each other pre snap ? Does the QB make the calls pre snap? Is it primarily based on zone reads? But what happens when the zone is out numbered? Who directs the OL shifts?
-
It appears as though the TE and WR shifts and motions are predetermined based on the primary play call? Has it been your experience as a player and or coach that shifts and motions should occur based on the defensive looks to create advantages for the offense? Would it be fair to say that calls for shifts and motions would be most advantageously made and retracted by the QB?
-
As a former offensive lineman, after a win, were you more proud of a 100 yard rushing performance or a 300 yard passing performance?
-
Why did 14 different huskies motion on every snap only to have stanfords defense not move a single time and tackle said husky 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage? Conversely, why did 1 player motion for stanford a couple inches only to run wide open down the sideline for a touchdown?
-
Question: What degree of "awesome" do urban recruits place on us having black shoulders?
-
In your experience, has the QB been given the liberty to change the playcalling pre snap based on defensive alignment?
-
Odds you give Smith to be demoted or fired if the rest of the season looks like the last 1.5 years have on offense?
-
Can you describe your favorite play to run back in the day? Why was it your fav?
-
Did you ever have a situation when the run game was rolling and the team started passing and punting? How did you respond?
-
Did you ever lose respect for a coach or coordinator during the season? How did it affect your play in practice and on the field?
-
As a player, did you ever listen to the head coach's press conferences or interviews? If so, how often did the coach lie?

The O Line makes calls between themselves on what the defense show pre-snap.droggins said:Who primarily calls the blocking assignments for the OL? Do the OL communicate with each other pre snap ? QB might make a play check to better play on a pre-snap read.
QB is looking at the coverage during his pre-snap reads.
To many men in the box makes the QB check to Derek's favorite bubble screen. 5 man box is a run check
OLine doesn't shift. That is the TE doing those -
Do you think UW should beg Gilby to come out of retirement and fix the offense?

I havent spoke or seen Mark in a while. I saw him in a photo of one of Orange Bowl Reunion parties. He is on the right with a few other stud O Linemen! -
It depends on how much the OC will let him. Young inexperienced QB might have a short leash on being able to change the plays. Peyton Manning can change any call at any time I am sure.droggins said:In your experience, has the QB been given the liberty to change the playcalling pre snap based on defensive alignment?

Would it be possible to upload the podcasts onto Youtube or Stitcher or something? My company blocks the website they are currently being uploaded on, and I would love to listen while I'm pretending to work at my desk.
I realize that I could take the time to download the podcast and put it on an MP3 player, but I thought I'd ask first. -
