What I don't get is how does a guy who went 92-12 or whatever it was at Boise, was known for his offensive creativity, was regarded as one of the smartest coaches in the country, always had his teams ready for big games, and had so many programs trying to lure him out of Boise, go to Washington and look completely inept? How the hell did he win the Bear Bryant REAL Football Coach of the Year Award? TWICE?!?!?!?!?!? This makes no sense whatsoever. How does a guy who had balls the size of grapefruits at Boise come to Washington and look timid, scared, and completely overwhelmed? It's like he needs Gene Hackman to come measure the goalposts for him and tell him everything is the same size as it was at Boise. It's still the same game on the same size field, but Pete doesn't look like the same guy, and it doesn't add up at all.

Pete went from who we thought he was to who we hoped he was to who we hate almost as fast as Sark flamed out at USC. Fucking amazing the anti-midas effect UW has on football. Was there a curse from a witch in a swamp 15 years ago that we missed?
