I don't think that's a bad defensive staff (quite honestly). Hitching your wagon to a bad head coach as an assistant can be pretty costly. It won't break my heart to see those guys scuffle a bit in the lower ranks. I wouldn't GAF if they landed at Oregon either.

Rumor had it that Oregon was very close to hiring Clancy Pendergast. I would love for us to re-approach him. But as Sven points out, the head coach hires and fires the DC. As long as Helf the Weed Farmer is our HC, we are fuuuuucked.
