Remember when we started hating Browning and Race said it's been a tough 2000 years for saviors?

I am on record hating Browning since spring practice.
-
Browning isn't the savior, though I maintain that he will be an all-conference QB one day. Pete is the REAL savior, but we'll see about that.
-
It ain't Browning's fault he's getting played too early. I think he's gonna be great one day.
Water is still wet, and playing true frosh is still a bad bet. -

It's awfully warm outside to stop hating Browning.

When did we stop hating Browning?

What does hating Browning have to do with Sark
being a drunkhaving a disease? (or taint licking) -
I would just like to say that I love Browning and that he will be fine.

Hold on...that's the Udub Patrón Saint!dnc said:There is one Savior who has never let me down.

If we aren't going to call him Cobra then fuck this thread.

Browning will be fine. He's not getting rattled by his failures. If the confidence and good coaching are there, the development is inevitable.
-
Browning sucks now. Sucks worse than I thought. right now my prediction of not surpassing 21 points of offense in a conference game looks like a good bet although I think they may start trying to run the ball and then who knows.
If he gets a running game going and still sucks that is a huge red flag. He was awful vs usc and cal. Not saying he should carry the offense. But he has to hit the wide open guys when they are there and he has not done that. -

If he can't score on Oregon he needs to be kicked out of school

I'm in between Coker and Atomic's opinions. He's been really bad the past few games. In the last game against USC, his mechanics were horrible too, which is kind of concerning.
Otoh, he dropped some crazy dimes against Utah State. That was only a couple of weeks ago. Those were big time throws that you don't see QB's drop very often. When he throws simple slants, seam routes, etc he looks great. He looks terrible when going through progressions, but a lot of that could just be a young QB that isn't ready, but has to play.
It's way too early to make projections, but I see Browning ending up a pretty good QB. I don't know if he is an All Conference QB, but he will be a good leader that can win games. I kind of see him as Keith Price, but with better intangibles, especially as a leader. -
Holy shit, that's a cold ass honkey.Houhusky said: -
That's what it is. He will get better with experience. There was a time in the NFL when a lot of rookie quarterbacks sat for a year or two and learned from the grissled 34 yr. old vet, or if they did start, it was expected they'd throw 11 TDs and 20 INTs. So I'll give a true freshman some slack.RoadDawg55 said:I'm in between Coker and Atomic's opinions. He's been really bad the past few games. If they went with another guy, we're probably talking four quarterbacks in four years if they plug Browning in next year anyway. It's college so of course there's usually a lot of turnover every year, but that's still too much. If they had Lindquist try to run the option or some shit, that would be a train wreck. Let him take his lumps and learn through his mistakes. They're going to suck at times but it will be better in the long run.

The remember the alternative and at least we have hope

Browning could play even worse than the past two games and I still wouldn't want Lindquist or KJCS to get a chance.
-
He is the best we got right now. But let's not sugar coat it. He sucks. That is somewhat expected for a freshman but he was missing wide open guys last week. Vs cal he couldn't get a first down with the game on the line on the last drive.RoadDawg55 said:Browning could play even worse than the past two games and I still wouldn't want Lindquist or KJCS to get a chance.
I expect him to get better but it needs to happen soon. He doesn't even have to be good. Just slightly below average and this team provably goes 5-4 or 6-3. Given the fact we barely have any upper class men contributing that would be a nice year for the team. -
If we have a blowout left anywhere in the schedule (unlikely), I'd like to see KJ do something more than hand the ball off to Dotson. Lindy is a known quantity.AtomicDawg said:
