    Strike to Mickens

This seems like a crazy pass play to me. Throwing across the field and having to fit it between the sideline and defender. Good catch by Mickens as well. I also like the pass after this where Browning gets nailed but completes the pass to Daniels.
I also like that He may be tempted to throw those passes against the proven. grizzled P12 N secondaries

I think that the play was designed to go their. Look at the pocket and how the other WR clears out the CB. Maybe you would like him more if he was throwing 5 yard passes on rub routes?

I thought this should been a fumble.

It's either a fumble or grounding

On most of the key pass plays you can see route combinations where there's a clearing out of an area.

The throw across the field to Mickens was beyond impressive. However, if Hall was designed to be part of the play, the route combination for him to run there would have been a post instead of a go.

The pass must have been intended for either Hall or Mickens, though, and either one would have been an across the field throw. I can imagine the Go route to Hall being riskier just because Browning would've needed a lot more air under the throw (that looks like it would've been like a 60+ yard throw in the air when you count the angle). I just can't imagine the primary target not being Mickens.

    Whiff.

    Most pac-12 secondaries are terrible.

The throw to Hall was open ... but that leads me to think that Hall was merely a decoy on the play. Plenty of room to throw Hall open towards the middle of the field.

It's actually a great play call there because defenses are taught there to flow to the side of the rollout (because you are taught as QBs to not throw across the field) as well as protect against the shot deep.

The other thing that stands out on that play is that you have either a RB or TE blocking on the top of the play and then as he bleeds out into the opposite flat there isn't a defender within 15 yards of him.

This is a great play to get up on film for the opposition to look at as a way to destroy tendencies.
