They rolled it over after last year's 3-9 shitshow.

"Ya know, I always thought hiring Leach was a big mistake. Paul Wulff took a program that was beat down to nothing and instilled pride in guys who had none. I live in LA and watched the Cougs just about beat a pretty good UCLA team because they never gave up. There were undermanned on defense but the offense played well — and damn near had a big win in the Rose Bowl. In other words, there was hope for the program after the disaster that marked the Doba years. I watched the demeanor of Wulff on the sidelines and his coaches — the whole staff was fully engaged, coaching, not screaming at the players. Wulff was a leader and Moos dropped the ball by letting him go. You don’t come back from having the worst team in memory overnight. Wulff was rebuilding the program, brick by brick and it was slow, but you could see the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.

So now we find out Leach has this contract that guarantees WSU will have to pay him millions if they fire him. Well, sometimes you have to bite the bullet and I say if the team can’t rebound from this horrendous loss and win 7 games, then Leach has to go and so does Moos.

I didn’t like the way Bud Nameck was shown the door after all those years either.

I don’t mind rooting for the Cougs even if they Coug it now and then — it goes with the territory — but this kind of crap just doesn’t get it. The sand is running out on Mike Leach. It’s do or die, sink or swim.

And if Leach sinks, then maybe think about rehiring Paul Wulff."
