As a 12-year old kid, I accompanied my dad to Husky Stadium to see Washington play Michigan. Late in the third quarter, Michigan blind sided Husky QB Steve Pelluer and forced a fumble. Michigan recovered and scored, to take a 24-10 lead.
I was so upset that I declared that the game was now over. My dad told me to never give up on the Huskies, especially under Don James, and he bet me $1 that the Huskies would win the game.
Steve Pelluer completed the final 15 passes of the game, leading the Huskies to 2 touchdown drives including one with less than a minute to go. His 2-point conversion throw to Dave Stransky gave Washington the 25-24 win.
