Ah, yes. It gets back to the crazies, the message board commenters of the world. The adults valiant enough to chastise teenage athletes on Twitter for not choosing our school, our team, our heritage, our tradition when, you know, things don’t go the way we (collective “we,” because they’re doing this on behalf of all of us, you see) would like. Frankly, I can’t bring myself to align with them. And maybe I’m wrong to judge them, but when they are the ones most vocal about any topic, regardless of what it may be, my moral compass tells me to walk quickly in the other direction. In this particular instance, they tend to be loudly trumpeting the Fire Sark horn. Hence, I’m predisposed to questioning the rationality of such a move. Because like I said, these people are insane. And agreeing with the insane makes one insane by association. I like to think of myself as a realist, as a semi-rational person. Thus, I sit here unwilling to pine for Sarkisian’s termination. Not because I don’t believe he’s warranted skepticism — he has — but strictly because I can’t support a cause perpetuated by lunatics.

Most of us who wanted Sark fired don't give a fuck about the dumbass teenagers on Twitter, but still...
whether we do or not, he and Art Thiel view us as the type that care about dumb ass teens on Twitter.

Interesting piece. I'm a middle of the road type of guy too (wink wink), and as someone who is acquainted to Alex I kind of see where he is or was coming from. For someone who was attending UW in the mid to late 2000's, UW football was frustrating and boring. With the exception of maybe a Carl Bonnell hail mary, or Anthony Russo touchdown (see how far the program was?), there wasn't much to beat ones chest about. Take into account the fact that Willingtolose sucked all of the fun out of the program, Sark and his antics were a breath of fresh air. Despite his clear flaws and the frustration that came from those, Sark's teams still made husky football palpable and somewhat relevant. So for many, giving Sark the benefit of doubt was easy. Also AA would take the insults as a compliment. He has always set out to create conversation and backlash.

Giving Sark the benefit of the doubt because you were yung and stupid is somewhat defensible.

Attacking people who felt differently (and were clearly right) and labeling them lunatics is not.

I also knew Alex pretty well at UW but that doesn't excuse him. We were all mostly captivated by Sark year 1, and after beating USC we were all dooging out. This article, however, was written in 2013, five years into dudebrah's tenure with his failure evident for all with any standards and cognizance to see.

AA made his bed and now he reaps what he sows.
    We? All?

    No. Just, no.

Alex is still pretty young and stupid (i.e. continued financial support for Mariners). Of course 99% (?) of the people here have the fact Sark left, thus deserved to be fired, on their side of the argument. Congrats! You people, (what do you mean by...) won an internet argument that is no longer moot. But for the record, at the time, to a majority of the fan base, the opinion here was lunatic considering where the program had been in recent past, and the fact that someone like cardboard cutout wasn't open to any jobs at the time. Sadly most of the fan base doesn't really care.
