OK, can't say I remember Central Florida's QB situation 5 years ago. I'll give you Pryor, Barkley and Kolb, Taylor. Ball State/Kent Stat 7-10 yrs ago? Please tell me you don't remember the back-ups on those teams. But when Briles took over Baylor they were an absolute dreck. I would be willing to bet Magna Carta or the Svede are better than RG3s backups in 2008NeGgaPlEaSe said:I think some here have their head so far up their ass about freshman they can't see daylight. Christian Hackenberg was amazing as a true freshman. There are things that can't be taught, like pocket presence, awareness and reading routes know were receivers will be and the defense will not. This comes natural to some. For Cyler Myles it did not.
Here is a short list of true Freshman Qb's that were successful by statistical analysis. I'm almost certain all of these schools had better options at Qb than Linquist and Magna
Jeffrey Godfrey UCF 2010
Terrelle Pryor Ohio St 2008
Matt Barkley USC 2009
Kevin Kolb Houston 2003
Robert Griffin Baylor 2008
Tyrod Taylor Virginia Tech 2007
Nate Davis Ball St 2006
Spencer Keith Kent St 2009 -
Not saying he was accurate, don't twist. Just that he could hit guys in stride. Reggie against Whoregon (lol), the pass to beat the Dynasty.DerekJohnson said:Pickett never struck me as particularly accurate.
Sure, guys had to grab them off the shoetops, but they weren't late.

John David Weed
Bears picked up a commitment from 4-star recruit in JUCO QB John David Weed.
After spending his first season in the Baylor program as a reserve quarterback, John David Weed moved to inside receiver during spring practice and is listed No. 1 on the Bears' depth chart at the "big slot" receiver position.
Meaning RGIII started as a true frosh and they moved his upperclass ass to receiver.

I also remember Pickett overthrowing a WIDE OPEN Reggie WIlliams on 4th down at Arizona in 2003 that would have won the game, back when losing to them was unacceptable.Alexis said:

Never.
Especially with first-and-10 near midfield, 90 seconds to play and a 26-24 lead. -
