All for the technology when it comes to protecting against concussions ...
The rest of it, it's just vibe talkin' -
I'm sure it's an AdvoCare product and SC is paying Ivan's commission.

Our sports bras were used to hold the tits of our former linemen during hot dog eating competitions.

So they spent thousands on this new hi-tech system that measures things like speed, distance, acceleration, collisions, and more.
So... what are they gonna do with the data?
How does these devices make you a better coach? How do they plan to use the data to improve their kids?
"Hey, this thing says you're not running fast enough. Run faster."
Great fucking plan as always. -
The data will help in telling him which players need to put out an add for their couch ...

As a semi-serious aside ... this is part of the AMZN article yesterday that in my mind causes so many waves. I get trying to optimize performance and identifying high and low performers. No problem with that.
The problem though comes from the fact that there's strengths and weaknesses in everything. The strength in data comes from the ability to identify unknown trends and make better decisions as a result. The weakness in data is that it can be gamed once people know what the desired outcomes are.
In both situations, what the end result will be is that instead of investing in people and helping to make them better, what we will end up creating is a bunch of mercenary behavior where it's dog eats dog, everybody is competing at all hours looking for an edge, and burn out rates get super high. -
The data's weak? YOU'RE weak...Tequilla said:The weakness in data is that it can be gamed once people know what the desired outcomes are.

I'm sure Alabama, Ohio State, The Seahawks, etc don't use new technology either.whatshouldicareabout said:So they spent thousands on this new hi-tech system that measures things like speed, distance, acceleration, collisions, and more.

My favorite new technology is run gassers in full pads until you puke.
-
Sandpits are the new training tool
Light deprivation therapy is making some in roads as well -
As I understand it, the design of the catapult system is fairly simple. When utilized correctly, large sums of money are "catapulted" from the athletic department's football fund into Ivan Lewis's bank account. This is it's singular purpose.

You'd be fired Coug for repeating yourself in a TL, DR mannersalemcoog said:Tequilla said:As a semi-serious aside ... this is part of the AMZN article yesterday that in my mind causes so many waves. I get trying to optimize performance and identifying high and low performers. No problem with that.

RoadDawg's comeback was better. Your snark game could use some work.

Ball bag is a bit obvious on his smackPurpleJ said:RoadDawg's comeback was better. Your snark game could use some work.

Let me explain the WHOOOSH here. I know damn well that coach put me in outfield because I sucked at baseball. That's why I quit after A ball. RoadDawg was smart enough to see through that. Ball bag wasn't. I have no problem with people who like baseball. It's a free country and fags can get married.
Now get this faggy baseball talk off my FIFA bored. Go Yankees! -
Besides... I still got a trophy.
