Sark's vetting process for his recruits must be intense
-
Sark is a QB guru
-
Maybe he didn't get any ice cream.

EverybodyKim says so. -
Can you say tate martell fruit basket?
-
Who?
-
@ReignofTroy: Ricky Town is the 3rd player that Steve Sarkisian has signed at #USC that will transfer. The first two? Rahshead Johnson and Lamont Simmons.
-
I remember @BallSacked saying months ago that he sucked his senior year and had bad TBS camps. He's dialed in.
-
Montana, Miles, Lindquist, Town ... Sark knows how to pick 'em.
TBS strategy for the future: Find out who Sark wants to be his QB and then recruit everyone who is NOT that guy. -
Didn't the QB he "stole" from Petersen (Jalen Green or something) sell the couch too?KoolAidMan said:@ReignofTroy: Ricky Town is the 3rd player that Steve Sarkisian has signed at #USC that will transfer. The first two? Rahshead Johnson and Lamont Simmons.

I read into this as Max Browne being legit. Towns selling the couch that swiftly strikes me as a guy who realized he's in over his head and knows he won't see the field for 4 years if ever.

He didn't sell his couch. He exchanged it.bananasnblondes said:

Nobody else sees sark making room on his depth chart for tate martell?
-
Sark and the future deja vu
-
Sark also took another QB, Darnold, in the class who is supposed to be better than Town.
-
Sark's TBS QB "success" at USC:
Sam Darnold (stays at QB, for now)
Jalen Green (moves to wide receiver)
Ricky Town (moves to a new school).
So, 1 for 3 on his first batch of QBs.
Not to worry though, because all reports are that Max Browne is developing nicely while waiting to take the reigns next year. (You know, the same way that Keith Price consistently improved under the tutelage of Sark. Ugh.)
Matt Fink is already committed for 2016, and Tate Martell and Tua Tagovailoa are on the horizon for 2017.
All this to say that every guy that I just listed in this post should be off limits for any other school looking to snag a QB because Sark's desire to recruit a particular QB seems inversely proportional to that QB's ability to play D-1 football.
Although, if Fink looks at Sark's Quarterback Circus and decides that he doesn't want to feel like just another waitress at Joey's, does Pete take another run at him? -
"QuarterbackCircus" would be a great handle.

Which is why the Sark bashing, at least in this case, is FS.Hippopeteamus said:Sark also took another QB, Darnold, in the class who is supposed to be better than Town.

Town was a national recruit and placed 8th at the Elite 11 finals, ahead of Josh Rosen. And most of the reports of SC's recruiting class, including those after signing day, had Towns ahead of Darnold.RoadDawg55 said:

Whenever you lose one of the top kids in the country, after 1 week of practice, that's a sign that something's not right. -
Well, that's an easy answer because Sark isn't a very good coach. So of course "something" isn't right. Or the kid might just be a quitter who couldn't take being the #4 QB after getting everything handed to him his entire life.. Who gives a fuck about recruiting rankings? Reports clearly state Darnold has been better.whatshouldicareabout said:

Town was ranked #1QB in country entering spring by scout. Then he sucked in spring camps, sucked in 7v7 summer and really sucked during his senior season. That's the reason they took Darnold.
I Would say most reports from knowledgeable SC sites had Towns and Darnold about equal entering the program. And thru summer and fall it's clearly been Darnold >>>>>Town.
-
Towns going from #1 to #8 is an indictment. Same for USC going hard after Darnold. The TBSers don't like to drop the kids they ranked high early because it means they were wrong, and the kids they are ranking are teenagers. They don't like to pile on. Joel Dublanko is still the #41 ranked DE.

Oregon supposedly waited until Darnold said no to offer the QB formerly known as Travis Waller. The only thing that might be shocking here is how quickly the recruiting rankings became FS.whatshouldicareabout said:

Quite honestly, sark is the best recruiter of "elite" teenbob qbs who flame out at the college level.
I'm convinced that he actually does recruit based on star rankings. #ripit -
Sark sure knows his QBs.
