I think he'd leave for a better job. Thought Florida would have made a run at both Arizona coaches last year.
I could see both Texas and ATM coming open soon and he'd be a pretty good candidate. -
Hopefully he can replace Richt at Georgia after we get him and DickRod fired.bananasnblondes said:With a good season, what are the chances Coach Buzzcut bolts from ASU? Hasn't that guy moved on as soon as something better appeared throughout his career?

His roots are in Texas and the AD that hired him at ASU is now at Texas ... probably a job in that state would be the only job I could see Graham leaving for. He seems happy in Tempe.BallSacked said:I think he'd leave for a better job. Thought Florida would have made a run at both Arizona coaches last year.

Strong is the right coach for Texas.Tequilla said:

I heard that had Graham beaten Arizona he was on his way to Florida. ASU was a NC contender until they had a big fade late in the year.
I have a feeling that ASU will fall back to the pack this season. They were mediocre their last 4 games...losing to OSU, being down to WSU at home at halftime, losing to Arizona then barely beating Duke in the bowl. Duke was right where we were in SRS.
They have some good young running backs but the loss of Kelly and Strong will be hard to replace. Their defense under Graham has been pretty inconsistent and always has had a few turd games each year. It gave up over 30 points the the last 4 games and even against Notre Dame (5th to last game) who I think had like 7 points in the 3rd quarter. -
Disagree. I went to the UCLA/Texas game last year and I was really unimpressed with Strong. They had some talent on defense, but Jerry methodically and consistently moved the ball. Their bowl game was also a complete embarrassment. I'm not sure he lasts another 2 years there.topdawgnc said:

Strong has a similar situation like Peterman has at QB. Swoopes is really really bad. Worse than Miley in my opinion.

Agree. I think ASU is slightly overrated and Arizona slightly underrated entering this season. My Broons could be rose bowl contender, or they could be 8-4 with a true fresh QB. Either way.HeretoBeatmyChest said:I heard that had Graham beaten Arizona he was on his way to Florida. ASU was a NC contender until they had a big fade late in the year.

Utah I think is also a touch underrated. Their defense returns a lot, they arguably have the best RB in the conference, but Wilson is the white Miley, and that coaching exodus has to be an impact.
South should be a cluster f this again year.

His problem is the program feels entitled and it has gotten fat and lazy.
I don't disagree he is gone in two years. -
Texas and washington were very similar last year, texas d would play well then start giving up once the offense couldn't do anything. You could tell the QB was the majority of the problem, trying to run an offense too complicating for the QB. Which falls on the HC and OC.
What was unforgivable in the dallas game was after the UCLA turnover with 4 minutes left texas went hurryup with the lead and ran vanilla run plays. Just stupid game management.
How strong hasn't recruited QBs well with that shit show of a position group is beyond me. -
The only greater culture shock than Sark to Pete was mack brown to Charlie strong. There was serious attrition and head butting during last year's transition for Strong. He blew it up, so to speak.
Shaggy Bevo reads identically to here regarding the coaching situation.
Some understood the amount of fat that needed to be trimmed and God awful QB situation while simultaneously trying to cope with head scratching sloppiness they figured the new staff would erase.
Pete runs a church school in Seattle, he'll get his 4 years nmw.
Strong is black in Texas, he'll get ran halfway through season 3 if they aren't in the hunt. -
I have no clue who's going to win the South except that it's not going to be Sark.BallSacked said:

He did a very good job at Louisville. I'm not sure about him at Texas. Teddy Bridgewater ain't walking through the door.topdawgnc said:

Graham seems to like ASU. He probably won't leave unless a top level job is offered.

Toppy is spot on regarding Strong ...
While Austin is by far the most progressive city in Texas, it's still way behind the West Coast in its attitudes.
