It's an award for athletes. I have no idea who the double amputee is, but unless he has some athletic significance of some sort that I'm unaware of Jenner's a better choice.
That said, Leah Still, Lauren Hill and the Notre Dame hoops chick who lost her arm in Iraq and just wanted her wedding rings back were more deserving than Jenner, who hasn't had shit to do with sports for 30 some years.
But none of those people would have driven ratings, and with moving the ESPY's to ABC, Jenner was the perfect money grab. ESPN/ABC exploited Caitlyn worse than E/Chris ever did. -
