Actually the WIAA does know but doesn't care. At the last state coaches meeting one of the WIAA heads made the announcement of "Stop coming to us about recruiting. You guys sort it out on your own".PurpleThrobber said:

Lakeside barely did anything wrong. They had one great season and have been average other than that. When their star player couldn't cut it in school anymore they made him LEAVE.
The story was a hit piece on Ballmer, nothing more.
