Great news re: Peterman on the recruiting front. Fetters says...

"Quite honestly... (no shit)... the Huskies have no holes on the roster. Peterman is recruiting for depth now... He addressed the holes in the roster with quality athletes in his first two recruiting classes."

He's right. Petersen has a better roster in 2 years than Sark had in 5. Sark had 6 nfl draft picks (that he recruited) in 5 years. The rest of the "athletes" he recruited were fucking junk. The worst part...no offensive linemen even made all league.
Said it repeatedly, give Pete 4-5 years and UW will be regular in the New years 6 . 2-3 more years he'll be there.

Typically you need to recruit, roster and possibly keep their ACL's intact to really have any shot at all league.puppylove_sugarsteel said:He's right. Unfortunately it's the OL that takes the longest to build up. The fat club-hopping hamster only took two OL in 2011, seemingly whiffed on every OL in his 2012 class except for possibly Brostek (who is getting a new lease on life under Strausser), and the 2013 may be too young to judge but only Shelton has seen meaningful time so far though Crane could be starting in 2016. From what I've gathered, Kirkland may never crack the two deeps and it would be a shocker if he ever started.
My guess for the two deeps in 2015:
LT: Eldrenkamp / James
LG: Charles / Crane
C: Tufunga / Turner
RG: Brostek / Sosebee
RT: Shelton / McGary
Wild guess at 2016:
LT: Eldrenkamp
LG: Henry Roberts
C: Dane Crane or John Turner
RG: Brostek
RT: Shelton or McGary,

Wouldn't shock me to see Allen at minimum in the 2 deeps by next year.
McGary will be starting in 2016. -
Who is Allen?

If we're going to start deleting instead of hiding flagged poasts ... I'm out.

I think Petersen is doing great in recruiting, but there is still a long way to go. We need a QB to play well before anything can happen. We might have an offensive system (and J Smith) that needs to be dumped and even highly rated young guys are never a guarantee.
My personal feeling is that the future lies in the last two OL classes and Browning. If Browning and the lineman (McGary, Adams, Roberts, etc) are all good players, we are in business. If some are good, we will stay mediocre (8-9 wins).
In general though, Petersen's taking care of the basic shit that Sark ignored. Recruit every position, including the OL. And Peterman actually recruits good lineman, not Taylor Hindy and Corey Fuavai's. -
Did Fetters get put on timeout for his comments?

It was interesting hearing about how our OL was forced into playing as frosh, and how they felt it was a huge disservice to their bodies. If there is one position you really can't rush it's OL. You need guys to come in as RS Soph's or two solid years as Jun/seniors to start having a dominate program.
I know all flash loves having big * recruits, but you actually need the big heavies to develop and grow into their frames before putting them out there for abuse. Another way I appreciate what CP is doing for hte long term health of the program, not just the quick escape to USC -
Boy thanks for the lesson on redshirting Olinemen. FreeTommy and I thought it was better to just play em as true freshmen.FreeChavez said:It was interesting hearing about how our OL was forced into playing as frosh, and how they felt it was a huge disservice to their bodies. Still pretty curious about the identity of the mysterious "Allen" @Tequilla...

Yeah?... well... USC and UCLA start true freshmen on the OL and DL and they win.FreeChavez said:It was interesting hearing about how our OL was forced into playing as frosh, and how they felt it was a huge disservice to their bodies. Maybe we just need to recruit the right guys? -

The funniest part about Sark calling him a top 5 pick was him pretending he valued lineman the way real teams do.topdawgnc said:
