I'm sure I should know this but what exactly does a quality control coach do? Sounds important...DerekJohnson said: -
As Booger so eloquently put it "WE HAVE BUSH!"
-
Does he count against the coaching staff numbers or is it a bullshit administrative position?
Either way, Lil' Babushka should be getting nervous... -
Because it would be awesome to replace the former Montana OC with the former Davidson OC.Doogles said:Does he count against the coaching staff numbers or is it a bullshit administrative position?

You mean like bringing in the New Hampshire OC?bananasnblondes said:

Imagine how things would have played out if we hired Chip in 2008 instead of retaining Ty.
I want to stab something! -
Locker would have won the Heisman!!Gladstone said:Imagine how things would have played out if we hired Chip in 2008 instead of retaining Ty.

I'm not suggesting Hamdan would be Babushka's replacement. I'm pointing out that an offensive oriented coach is calling for more offensive help, further confirming what our eyes told us last season - something isn't clicking on that side of the ball between coaches and players. Smith is the odd man out if shit continues to hit the fan IMO.bananasnblondes said:

Quality control: Correct retarded mechanics?

An offensive quality control coach is an assistant who helps support the offensive coaching staff with information and data. They're people who break down film, compile data, analyze data and provide the coaches with reports. It also involves scouting other team's defenses, their tenancies, and other administrative duties. They do not count as "coaches" because they do not go out, recruit or have direct relationships with the players.RaccoonHarry said:

To me, this is something necessary for Smith and Petersen to restructure the offense after the disaster that was 2014. Hadman was a QB under Petersen/Harsin from 2005-2008 and has held a number of good coaching positions since then, including WR at Florida in 2012, Co-OC/QB coach at Arkansas State in 2013 (under Harsin), and OC at Davidson in 2014. Hadman is familiar with Petersen's methods and has experience as an OC for 2 years, meaning he will be able to coach up the coaches, especially Smith. The only concerning thing about his resume is that when Harsin jumped from Arkansas State to BSU, he didn't bring Hadman with him.
I'm also reading between the lines here, but it sounds like Hadman is a position-coach-in-waiting now, ready to take a coaching position next year if things don't work out for someone... either Smith or Paopao. -
not quality

Again, more quality needed here-
-
Paopao is probably out at some point would be my expectation ...
If Smith is let go at some point ... you'll find a more established OC coming on board to take the job and not just a staff promotion from within -
I don't see any downside with this move. CP knows him, believes in him, he has some experience, and at the end of the day, our coaching bench strength has been improved.

As Kim will say, just another example of Peterman being in over his head in the big leagues.

I remember Ducks hiring CK before Dawgs announced Ty was coming back. I cold be wrong but I doubt it.Gladstone said:Imagine how things would have played out if we hired Chip in 2008 instead of retaining Ty.

Yeah well I deal in hypotheticals

We would have been on almost probation and been a national powerhouse? Man, cheating is overratedGladstone said:Imagine how things would have played out if we hired Chip in 2008 instead of retaining Ty.

You know, I'm going to scale back my criticism of Miley. Considering he throws with his eyes closed he did a helluva job last year. -
Actually, Hamden hitching his wagon to Petermen is significant. While not a big deal in the scheme of things, it shows how much former players respect the guy. Hamden was the projected starter 2 different times and Pete went with another guy each time (Taylor Tharp and Moore). Hamden was the perennial clipboard holder and had plenty of opportunities to play the victim card and sell his couch. Especially because his brother was in the NFL.
Again, it really doesn't mean shit, but it says a lot about Poach Pete. -
Fuck that picture of Miles hurts. How do you close your eyes before you throw the ball?!! I know the answer is when you unleash the trebuchet some wind will blow dust in your eyes, but still. Can't get over it.

Will the quality control coach help the head coach with game management?
That would be nice. -
Well he will control quality. So I would assume so.TierbsHsotBoobs said:Will the quality control coach help the head coach with game management?
