God bless the longshoremen and their union

Toppy, still think unions are irrelevant and don't matter anymore? Seems to me this is becoming a serious economic issue, on a worldwide stage. All from an irrelevant little union.

Yes so let's all abolish unions because people are going to get their shit a few weeks later. Besides, I thought or economy was shitty and no one had jobs. No one is buying anything. Corporations are only profiting because they are buying back their own shares.

Ex, why must you open a chapter out of your online university econ book and spew plagiarism fucko ? Everytime anyone posts anything! Try impromptu, it makes you sound more intelligent if you know what you'r e talking about (which is obvious to everyone here you dont , hence the verbatim talking points directly our of a text book).
Let it flow, try and communicate on your own. Investopedia wont always be there to hold your hand -

A fittinv comeback from your dumbass. And who's Octavian? (It's rhetorical, meaning nobody knows or cares, so no response necessary new fish) lurke a little, get a feel for the place, then respond with something educated, clever, witty or humorous. Something Ex has yet to do in his 3 months here. Dont go down his path, you might last a few weeks longer.2001400ex said:

Octavian's been lurking for a couple thousand years. PM @HiberniaCanusXXII, he has this place dialed in.

Well, down here in Portland Hanjin has just pulled out. Word is they finally got tired of all the work slow downs and other bullshit the union and its $90,000/year workers were orchestrating. No worries though, Portland, Hanjin is only 70% of the port's business. I'm sure that business can be replaced pretty easily,puppylove_sugarsteel said:Lets all get behind these guys. A 5-mile backup of container trucks isnt long enough. Id like to see a 15-mile backup. That'll get the message across.

Yup, hanjin just gonna go down the street and find another port, and a non-union one at that. Are you fucking retarded? Better yet, they're going to pull up on the shores of tillimook bay, rent a crane and unload their own containers.RaccoonHarry said:

Yes they do, and ONLY because they are unionized. Who said unions are worthless? They make 90k and another 25k in benefits and retirement stack. Go get a degree, work non union jobs and make less in salary than union workers do in benefits. Who said unions are good for nothing?Fire_Marshall_Bill said:Longshoremen already make plenty Pups
Where does all that money in wages go ? Back into the economy instead of a worthless savings acct. where non union workers put their extra $2500/year in discretionary income. -
I support Puppylove and the longshoreman, or as Bill Walton calls them...Wharf Rats
