I guess Romar shouldn't even show up for the rest of their games.

I'm sure football is what covers Romar's salaryFreeChavez said:I have heard the same thing. There is some big money who are starting to bang their heads. AD will start listening when there are 1500 people at games and boosters aren't covering romars salary anymore

Men's basketball has paid for itself for years.

He said boosters were paying his salary. The last I looked, football produced 87% of the athletic department's revenue.dnc said:

Yeah, but Men's BB is the only other sport that has profit potential and the AD of Washington is failing if that program isn't at the very least self sustaining.DerekJohnson said:

Football covers a lot, but I would wager romar's salary is not from football coffers. Especially when you're talking about the extensions. Either way, someone light his couch on fire and let's get this over with.DerekJohnson said:

It even sounded like JHam on KJR today had doubts about the viability of Romar continuing on successfully at UW. If Romar loses JHam, that is Nixon losing Cronkite right there.

When Jerry Brewer actually writes a column lighting Romars couch ablaze will I believe true change is possible in seattle.Alexis said:It even sounded like JHam on KJR today had doubts about the viability of Romar continuing on successfully at UW. I've heard both Rondeau and JHam on a few broadcasts driving home during the conference season (one of which was the Oregon St home game) ... it's been hard at times to keep a straight face during the games and to not call a spade a spade (which the UW AD ranks only behind the Mariners in having a desire for fair and objective calling of games by their broadcasters).
The only people that I'm seeing defending Romar at this point are those that are worried about retaining this class (which I get but is misguided) or know nothing about basketball.
