KG on Joyner's recruitment

"He deserves criticism for the way he recruited Joyner early on and praise for getting him back. He could have handled it better. he learned and adjusted."

Pete signed him.
Nuff said, case closed, end of discussion. -
Jesus his narrative is tired.
-
That's not what I'm hearing from the texts and emails I'm getting from the people I'm talking to.
-
Yeah I don't believe this notion that Pete had to learn and adjust to something that apparently Kim already knew.dnc said:Pete signed him.

Does this also go along with Kem's knowledge on where Myles Jack is going? Maybe the same sources?insinceredawg said:

Has DAT signed yet?
-
Yeah, Pete, who's been recruiting for how many years, has to learn how to do it now.
what a douche -
Even Fatters and Eklund don't agree with Kim on this. Here's what happened:
1) Joyner commits to Sark as a RB
2) Sark leaves
3) Pete honors Joyner's commitment as a RB
4) Joyner sayshewants to be a CB in college, a position he's never played
5) Pete says he wants to seeJoyner play CB before he offers him at the position
6) Pirate tells Joyner he can play any position he wants
7_) Joyner commits to Pirate
8) Pete sees Joyner play DB. Offers him at CB
9) Joyner commits to UW
10) Kim spends another night crying in his wine glass because he thinks back to Pete kicking him out of his office when he "forgot his jacket
11) Kim writes another backhanded recruiting remark about Pete
12)????
13) Profit -
How is that remotely screwing up his recruitment?
"Hey, but did you see Sark's class at SC?" -
Lol the "forgot my jacket" thing still cracks me up to this day.bananasnblondes said:Even Fatters and Eklund don't agree with Kim on this. Here's what happened:

How do any coaches get through recruiting without being as smart as Kim?
-
Kim Grinolds has spent more time telling everyone about how Coach Pete screwed up Joyner's recruitment than he ever did criticizing Sark about NOT getting Banner, Garnett, Rector, Brown, etc.
I hope Pete continues to mock and laugh at Kim during press conferences. -
Those kids had already are up there minds. They were never coming to UW. Totally different scenarios. Stop twisting.CheersWestDawg said:Kim Grinolds has spent more time telling everyone about how Coach Pete screwed up Joyner's recruitment than he ever did criticizing Sark about NOT getting Banner, Garnett, Rector, Brown, etc.

the couch?

The couch or the wine of the week

Why would a coach prefer to be honest with players and recruit them for the roles that best suit the needs of the team and that players future prospects? Have they not heard of star rankings? Sizzle?
-
Kim refuses to take Sark's cock out of his mouth, defending him to the end. There was another post taking a look at the attrition under Sark and of course the Steve Defense Force aka KG is quick to defend his idol. Good times over at doogman.
Here's his main arguments:
-Ty burned UW to the ground which is why the 2012 class was terrible
-Sark and Pete struck out on the same amount of in-state recruits (Banner, Garnett, Russell, Williams, Browne, Jack, Rector etc vs Eason) cause of math
-It's not Sark's fault he struck out on those other guys cause they never wanted to go to UW but CP missed on Eason cause his process sucks and he doesn't know what he's doing. Kim needs to school him on how to recruit in the Pac 12.

I love Pete and I think his recruiting is very good and only going to get better, but I do think he flubbed it a bit with Eason. I love Eason and it's sad to me that he's the kind of weirdo that would commit to GA because that's an idiotic move for many reasons.
All that said, I think Pete probably should've offered a bit earlier... but it's not really that big a deal.
At this level, having Skinny vs. Fink is really not a huge difference in my book. The talent is there with both of them and it's just who develops into what that will tell the tale.
Also, supposedly Taylor Rapp and Isaiah Gilchrist are going to commit any day now. -
But a good coach takes their time to evaluate, not just be first to offer. We've seen too many qbs burn out by not having proper Evals for the next level. Eason very well could be great, but I'm happy with Pete taking his time and making sure kids are in the boat. He obviously recruits differently than most, and he makes sure a kid is all in for him and uw.
If Eason wants to go elsewhere, good for him. There are tons of great qbs on the board. It still ayers most how you develop, not just stars from kem and company -

Eason played for Lake Stevens right? Wesco is a shitty conference. Anyone could dominate that league. Washington State QBs that are rated high usually seem to not pan out or have an inconsistency at least.
Browning could suck too.... But he was Petes guy from the start. It's going to be hard to convince 2 top 10 QBs to sign in the same class. -
Kim also said Malcolm Butler screwed up the Super Bowl because he let Kearse make a circus catch.
-
Most high school QB's end up being busts. I don't think Washington QB's are any different from other states. Only one QB plays and often guys at that position are multi year starters.CuntWaffle said:Eason played for Lake Stevens right? Wesco is a shitty conference. Anyone could dominate that league. Flubbed it because we need another qb in this class? Eason is better? Local is better? What specifically makes you believe Peterman flubbed Eason's recruiting?Dennis_DeYoung said:I love Pete and I think his recruiting is very good and only going to get better, but I do think he flubbed it a bit with Eason. Saying Petersen blew it with Joyner, after Joyner signed with UW is one of the dumbest things Kent has ever said.
-
Didn't he also say Baker would have flipped to UW from Oregon regardless of who was coach?RoadDawg55 said:Saying Petersen blew it with Joyner, after Joyner signed with UW is one of the dumbest things Kent has ever said.
That to me is pretty FS ... even my dead grandma knows Peterman flipped him with substance. -

The Baker recruitment was basically DM.c self parody.
