Revised Dline grade

When you are at the game and you have had a few too many beverages you miss a lot of things on the field. After watching the TV version the Dline actually held their own. Several times they forced Southwick out of the pocket, and did a really nice job in short yardage situations. And it is tough to get sacks on 3 step drops.
Biggest disappointment = Feeney. He missed several tackles that should have been negative plays for Boise St. Also Shaq missed a couple of tackles when he filled the hole.
On that sweep play, the line actually held pretty well, but the RB just waited and when no LB filled the hole he just kept doing a little cut back.
New Grade = B

Lower. C or D ish
-
they got outphysicled at the point of attack a lot. I'd give Kikaha an A, everyone else combined probably a D

Kahlua (and his alter ego Jamora) is a player. Great seeing him back.

They got pushed around way too much. The LB's were their saviors too many times. There were times there, that the DL was getting pushed back 4-5 yds! Not good.

C-. I've watched the game twice on the DVR now. My grade of the DL went up from an F to a C- after watching the line of scrimmage closely.
Negatives
1. Boise St. OL owned the line of scrimmage through the 1st half (most worrisome).
2. Zero pressure on the base front.
3. No sacks.
Positives
1. Hudson handled the double-team most of the game.
2. Kikaha and Shelton gang tackling downfield.
3. Only gashed once by the BSU backs (1st drive before Southwick threw the pick to Parker) -
They get a C+ because of the six points. Boise owned the line of scrimmage too often. Against a big, physical team, they will have problems if things don't change.
