Josh Smith (LB)- LB recruiting is the staff's No. 1 priority right now. Smith is currently committed to Vanderbilt but is expected to visit Oregon on Jan. 30. He may visit Oklahoma this weekend, but no confirmation as of now. If Smith follows through with his visit to Oregon, we have a good shot.

Darrin Paulo - OL (6-7, 330) - Paulo visiting on Jan. 23 and will be the lone visitor. Oregon is certainly in the game here as they have been recruiting him for quite a while. Washington State is the main opposite destination. Guessing he commits on his visit. Oregon, USC, and UCLA are all interested as well as the Cuogs.

Fotu Leiato- OLB The negative to Leiato might be a lack of ideal size, but his film looks pretty spectactular, despite playing in a smallish leage in WA. Visiting Eugene on Jan. 30.

Bryce Sterk - DE/OLB - (6-5, 230) - Sterk is taking an official visit to Washington this weekend and it seems the Huskies are the favorites. Oregon is hoping to move up the list but they will need to get him to visit so our whore and weed army can go to work on him.

Daishon Neal - DE/OLB - 3-Star Recruit (6-7, 250) - Current Huskers commit, but looking around. Kid visits Oregon on Jan. 30 and visits the Huskers on Jan. 23, so UO gets the last word. Oklahoma still in contact but it's likely Oregon or Nebraska.

Christian Folau - LB - 4-Star Recruit (6-1, 240) - Folau has an Oregon offer but he has not visited. Unclear if the staff is stringing this one out some. If Folau visits and is given the chance, will likely commit. Projects to grow into a DE-type body which does not answer the team need at LB... which may be the problem. No visit date yet.

Kirk Merritt - RB/WR (5-11, 206) - Oregon seems to be the destination but his good buddy is taking an unofficial to Texas A&M and is trying to get him and his dad to go along. Kid took an official to Oregon in October and Helfrich and company were at his high school this week.

LONG SHOTS

Josh Woods- LB - 24/7 No. 134 Recruit Overall (6-0, 220) - No visit scheduled yet. If he does not visit 1/30, he ain't coming. If he visits, call it a coin flip.

Nathan Meadors - DB - (6-1, 194) - Class seems to have filled up with DBs with Ugo Amadi's committment and enrollment. Meadors is scheduled to visit UCLA on Jan. 30. At this point, he appears to be the only defensive back Oregon is still recruiting actively. Most likely this kid goes to Westwood.

Kyler Murray - QB - (5-10, 180) - Nobody knows what is going on here. Supposed to be a solid A&M commit but is also talking to Oregon and Oklahoma, and visited Texas on an unofficial midweek. Seems unlikely hat he flips, and apparently nobody close to him is talking.

Prince Tega Wanogho Jr. - LB/DE - No. 79 Overall Recruit (6-8, 250) - All set to visit Oregon on Jan. 30 but the Ducks are a longshot at best. Auburn is considered the favorite but distance will be the key. Wanogho is from Nigeria and only knows a few people in the US, and all of them live in the state of Alabama (yikes). Also destroyed his leg last week playing hoops.

Oregon has 19 committments right now, of which 5 enrolled early for winter term. Of the above, expect five to come to Eugene. If Semisi Uluave commits to Oregon, he will likely be part of the 2017 class since if he comes to UO expect him to take a 2-year Mormon mission.

So... another thread how Helfrich is finding it difficult to recruit at this level?

Oregon is now offering a JUCO LB out of Riverside Community College - made an offer on a visit to the player today... Washington State three-star linebacker commit Jonah Moi. Moi seems interesting in taking a visit 31 Jan - that has yet to be nailed down, however. So, looks like Oregon may have missed on one or more LB prospects listed above.

That being said, this kid looks to be a good fall-back option:

Also, fun to see if Leach is pissed off that we are poaching his class

So what you are saying is that Helfrich is putting together a bottom half of his class that Seven could be proud of?

Does not look like he will visit as of Tuesday.

Oregon is the leader after his visit last week, possible silent commit. Likely NSD signee.

Fotu Leiato- OLB The negative to Leiato might be a lack of ideal size, but his film looks pretty spectactular, despite playing in a smallish leage in WA. Visiting Eugene on Jan. 30.

Committed. Do not know if he will visit or not (Oregon is very short on visits).

Bryce Sterk - DE/OLB - (6-5, 230) - Sterk is taking an official visit to Washington this weekend and it seems the Huskies are the favorites. Oregon is hoping to move up the list but they will need to get him to visit so our whore and weed army can go to work on him.

Committed to Church School last weekend.

    Corn.

I think he's been told to look elsewhere.

Kirk Merritt - RB/WR (5-11, 206) - Oregon seems to be the destination but his good buddy is taking an unofficial to Texas A&M and is trying to get him and his dad to go along. Kid took an official to Oregon in October and Helfrich and company were at his high school this week.

Did not take unofficial to Texas A&M. Oregon looking better and better for this kid on NSD

Rumored to be a silent commit to Texas.

Prince Tega Wanogho Jr. - LB/DE - No. 79 Overall Recruit (6-8, 250) - All set to visit Oregon on Jan. 30 but the Ducks are a longshot at best. Fuck this guy.

I think Oregon gets Merritt, Paulo, and a JC guy at LB.
