You must not remember the discussions. You said the sun will supernova, which it will not. It's not massive enough (Fetters.jpg) to supernova, which is a rapid collapse of the star followed by an explosion.
It will grow to a red giant and engulf the earth. Then it will slowly shrink into a dwarf star, which is much smaller and colder than it is now.
Here's a handy chart showing the difference. The sun will take the top path.

The Sun will engulf the Earth. And the Andromeda Galaxy is hurling toward the Milky Way Galaxy at 250,000 mph. As long as this doesn't negatively impact college football, I don't really think any of us give a very big fuck.
