Something that sets this recruiting class apart

I don't think we've had a kid commit to Petersen and then decommit during this recruiting cycle, and it doesn't look like anyone will.
That's a huge difference from the previous regime and a statement about the culture Pete is trying to establish with his players. In a way it's very Chip Kelly-like. Chip did not take flakes, he didn't show up on kid's doorsteps with his staff quacking like ducks (when they suck), he didnt make stupid light shows and powerpoint presentations for kids, and he made an Oregon offer something special.
The Arik Armstead story is a perfect example. Sark and Tosh put on some ridiculous over the top dog and pony show for him while Kelly just sat down with him and told him about what he was trying to build. We know who he picked.
From reading the interviews with Petersen's commits it sounds like they are all about the culture of what he is trying to build and I don't expect the decommitments and attrition that have really fucked this team's ability to take the next step.

This is the POTD IMO

Sounds great. Now win or gtfo.

For the big picture of the program, I don't think the importance of this can be overlooked.

Good chit boat

It's a nice change.
If we had a coach where players flipped all the time though I wouldn't care if he won. This is something that teams that lose talk about as a bright spot. It's nice. But it really doesn't affect my mood on crisp fall afternoons.GrundleStiltzkin said:For the big picture of the program, I don't think the importance of this can be overlooked.

So now that an adult is in charge, he treats recruits with respect, and when they commit - they actually mean it.

Conform or GTFO.
Amen. Like running off a 1st round CB talent and the 3DB.GrundleStiltzkin said:For the big picture of the program, I don't think the importance of this can be overlooked.
Sounds like when Pete says something -he means it. -
I still can't believe the podcast thought you were doog of the year

Part of the reason is cause Petersen tells recruits that a commit is important and tells them to cancel the rest of their visits. Sark just wanted to bark of twitter for buzz and didn't care if commits meant it.
But regardless, I just want to win. -
Secondarily to this, I'd think there's some corrolation to players staying committed for the whole process and staying with the program for the duration of their scholly. Guys who make a serious commitment would be more likely to see things through.
