Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.

Things on the surface sometimes don't always make sense ... but then more information comes out and they really start to make sense.
Whittingham is a very solid coach and what Whittingham has done there carrying on from the Urban Legend is nothing to sneeze at. Even though they aren't necessarily recruiting all of the edgy kids that I've heard you need to be successful at the PAC level, his teams tend to play very hard, are sound defensively, play great on the lines, and have tremendous special teams. It will be hard to imagine that Utah won't take a significant step back with whoever their next coach is - particularly given that part of what is driving the rift is a lack of pay for assistants.
Three very quick thoughts:
1) For any targets that we're looking at that have Utah interest (I seem to recall an OL that we were interested in), we take advantage of the situation.
2) Whittingham would be a great fall back plan for Michigan if Harbaugh decides to stay in the NFL
3) If I'm the Utah President, the AD is door.ass.out as soon as Whittngham leaves. -

Spurned for looking at Husker hips?

Are you saying you've known about this for a while but didn't want to say anything?CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Apparently this has been coming for awhile now. The AD there refused to give a raise to Kalani Sitake, one of the reasons he left. Utah is losing their best assistants (who Whittingham likes) all because they won't pay for it.

Fuck you for saying that before I could.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said: -
Yes, but unlike DM.c I will say that I heard of this a few weeks ago from this thing called the internet/twitter that now exists. There was an article from earlier in the year talking about how Sitake was pissed that Dave Christenson (who just left to T&M) was getting paid more than him in his very first season and the AD refused to give him a raise.HuskyJW said:

He'd be a good hire for SC. Which thankfully means Haden will sit tight.

I'm hearing (I actually am) that Dennis Erickson is trying to get the HC job on interim basis.
