I am 100% in favor of freedom of religion. It doesn't matter to me if people say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or anything else. It doesn't affect my life one why or another. I have Christmas tree and buy Christmas gifts. I have a Jew friend who sometime comes over for Christmas dinner and I have been to his place for a (ch)anukah . Communism is a total social and economic revolution. There's no room for outside systems of control or influence. Religion is a system of control that influences people and contradicts Marx. That means in addition to other sweeping changes, all religions must be eliminated to create a pure communist utopia.
Atheists are not for the elimination of religion. Atheists choose not to believe in religion.
This is basic.
