Why does this guy only have 9 catches? While I am no Hugh Millen, he looks like a guy i would want to get the ball to.

I don't see many oversized safeties these days. He's fast as hell but no way he's going to have the agility of a guy like Baker or even King. Safeties have to have cornerback skills against most of the modern offenses and no way a guy Daniels' size is going to have them.
I could definitely see him in a hybrid S/LB role like what Shaq has played at times. I never saw any highlights of him doing that as a HS player but I take your word for it that he did it and did it well.

Daniels was relevant early in the year and then completely fell off the map. He doesn't shy away from contact and has good size and I don't think dropped a ball on the year.
His freshman highlight was absolutely blowing up a guy on special teams.
Hopefully he will continue to grow into the TE position and be solid contributor for the offense moving forward.

If we can patch together a decent OL, the offense will be much improved next year. I think Miles will be improved and if another guy beats him out it means he's a legit QB. Perkins/Daniels is a solid combo at TE. The RB's are all returning plus Gaskin/Warren, and at WR we have Pettis, Mickens, Taylor, and Lenius.

Maybe at the start of the year, Daniels and Mathis weren't happy but if you stick out an entire season I doubt you'd bolt at that point. Both guys will play much bigger roles next year. Daniels has the tools to be a big-time TE and under this strength staff & Pete I'd bet on it. Both guys should have been red shirted as they'd have 3 years and not 2 to be big contributors.

Mathis has been playing consistent and actually been getting a lot of run for a back up. He and qualls look good.
