No QB in this year's recruiting class?

We aren't exactly desperate for QBs, considering the current stable. However, there is the conventional wisdom that every class should include a QB. My opinion is that skipping this year isn't a big deal, but we better score big in the 2015 class.

There's a good chance that Sark has a big name QB recruit reeled in, but has yet to announce the relationship publicly. Say an 81% chance.

Scorched Earth for the next coach. Sark isn't making it past Troy Williams. He'll be lucky to make it to Troy Williams.
Not really sure why Sark isn't working on getting a QB... maybe there is just really no one who would come here of sufficient caliber this year or maybe we are laughable so no one bothers telling the stalkers that UW offered them. I have a hard time imagine it is strategy to not get a QB in this class... -
Honestly, I think it's a foolish move by Sark, but it's not the first time he hasn't thought long-term about numbers. The issue is not whether we need a new Fr. QB next year; the issue is that Troy Williams could win the job in '14 and then we may only have just him and a freshman on our squad in '15. I would be fine with taking a flyer on a guy like Jake Luton who could play another position as well, but it just seems logical that we should not skip a year.
It doesn't matter, we are headed for another 3 OL class and cutting out the QB gives us more room to load up on WRs and LBs. Good thing those are important positions. -
Probably no RB either. The guy we've been assured we are doing "very well for", 5-star Joe Mixon doesn't have UW anywhere near the top of his list anymore. Demario Richard, the other guy they were hoping on is a clear ASU lean. Not to worry, though. We have Tosh.

UW is now WR-U.
Retake Montlake.
Woof. -
You have two RS freshman QB's plus a true frosh at QB. I would always like to get a QB but I'm not going to freak out if we don't. I'm more concerned with the lack of quality OL recruits for the fourth year in a row.

the WR's have to be good to be considered WR-U. HTHtracker said:

Only the 3rd string guy will probably transfer next year year. We will still have two good QB's (On paper). I would like to get a guy this year, but if we don't, it's not the end of the world.He_Needs_More_Time said:You have two RS freshman QB's plus a true frosh at QB. You always want a QB every year but with Miles and Williams on board(assuming Lindquist transfers out) I'm sure Sark or the new coach will sign one in 2015 so we'll be fine there.RoadDawg55 said:

What is going to KILL this program is after signing 7 OL in 2010
Here is the OL break down:
2011: 2 OL(both 3 stars)
2012: 5 OL(one has already quit and I think Hindy is no longer with us either)
2013: 3 OL(one didn't qualify so only 2)
2014: 1 OL(his offer list is MWC quality).
So in three years from 2011-2013 Sark has only 7 OL that's it. None of them besides Dean Crane had decent offers either.
After 2014 our OL is going to be FUCKED! -
We got 3 in 2013. Coleman Shelton ended up not having to grayshirt after it was initially reported he would. Good thing, because the early reports are that he is the best of the bunch. He has gotten some reps with the 2's at tackle already. I know he was a lightly recruited guy, but his highlight tape was actually impressive and he played in a good league in LA.He_Needs_More_Time said:

I agree with your post though. Not only are we lacking quantity, but the quality has been far from great. Tufunga from 2011 is a marginal player, evident by the coaches burning Brostek's redshirt instead of throwing him in there. So we really got one guy who is a good player in 2011 (Charles).
The class of 2012 is all plan B/C guys. This was supposed to be a "bumper crop." Hindy is still with us, but all reports are he is a bum. He had no other BCS offers, and was a last minute addition to the class. I have heard first hand from a player that Fuivai (English) isn't very good either. Michael Kneip the walk on is listed as a 2nd team guard. The only guy that looks like a sure contributor is Eldenkamp. Who knows what to expect with Brostek. He may be a guy that is broken. We have seen it before when guys get thrown out there before they should.
This year is already not looking good. We have a shot at a 3* guy or two, but it's not looking great. I don't expect any studs in this class, but hey, 2015 is going to be another "bumper crop." Fuck, I hate Sark and how he has fucked up this program. I hope the next coach is a guy who has good JC connections, because we need some immediate contributors as a result of Sark's mess.

Yeah but we're the only school in the country who doesn't accept PE credits. You can't POSSIBLY expect Sark to be able to recruit JCs with those hampering restrictions. Kind of like how you can't win at Stanford, right?RoadDawg55 said:

I'm sure Kimmy and Ektard already have their excuses ready for when Sark signs 3 OL in February, 1 of which will be a Taylor Hindy-type. -

Conventional widsom also calls for recruiting 7-10 linemen per year.Passion said:Interesting. I reviewed the scout.com database for QB recruits that we're targeting. It appears that anyone worth a damn has already committed elsewhere, BUT it also seems that UW hasn't really offered anyone a scholarship.

There's a bumper crop of QBs in next years class.

Moving Evan Hudson has a little to do with that. And when our 1st- teamers get gassed, which they will, we're ficked. Sark hasn't just ignored the OLine
Oh, and according to Ektard, Laga is retiring because Sark ONLY uses "long" athletes now. Eklund is most ignant fuck I've ever listened to -
Sark is probably too busy recruiting 5 year old flag football QBs than he is this class.
2028 could be special.
