ND on the verge of a worse loss than what we had

Have the ball deep in NW territory.
40-37 about 1:40 left on 2nd down, fumble, NW drives all the way down, kicks a FG.
ND just missed a FG in OT

Not much to say, to be honest. ND didn't have enough depth on defense to withstand any injuries, particularly at Mike LB, and that's pretty much what happened. That, and Everett Golson turns the ball over like a maniac. Oh, and Brian Kelly likes to be cute and run jet sweeps twice inside the 10 yard line.

McDaniel fumbled when the game was basically won, confused at no mention of that.

ND's old Defensive Coordinator was obsessed with height and weight measurables. A kid could have an offer from every program in the country and he would literally not offer if a kid was an inch too short. It was absolutely retarded. It left us with depth problems all over on the defensive side of the ball.

That, and Kelly decided to go for 2 after a TD earlier in the game for no reason whatsoever, and it failed. Would have been nice to have had that PAT point at the end of the game, let me tell you.

Bob Diaco. He's the head coach at UCONN now. It was more of a gradual thing because his first defensive recruiting class was incredible, but he started to become lazy after that, which culminated in him flat-out refusing to go out and recruit last year. I think that Kelly didn't see it as a problem at first because of that first really good recruiting class, but yeah, he should have done something about it a couple of years ago.
