Two steps forward, one step back. This is a really hard conference. Back to the drawing board on defense. Takes 18 to 24 months to implement system. Need more Shaqs (bullets).

Cyler was just having some trust issues. He needs to trust in the system more.

We need to get our receivers more open so Cyler has a better chance to feel safe throwing the ball. 5 yards isn't comfortable, and unless we can move that open space to about 15, we are going to have problems getting the receivers the ball.
I'll be working with Larry Scott to approve the rule of bounce passes from QBs, but I won't expect much to come from that. Like the players and the team, it is all a process.
We really tried to get Shaq more than 16 carries, but we require at least 2 trick plays or change-ups a series to keep the other team on their toes. And it is really difficult to get John Ross the ball when he is 20 yards down the LOS from the QB. We've thought about drawing up plays for him, but Jonathan's iPhone app is a free version and only allows 10 plays before needing to pay 49 cents to get another 5 plays.
