....... I could have bought four tix in the corner next to the UW cheerleaders one row back for 25.00 each via UA ticket office.....but I played the good soldier and went the UW route and now I am put in the opposite side, top second from the top row.
Add in for thought. For our trip to Cal game the UW wanted 80.00 per seat (x2: 160.00). Instead we opted to buy on game day at Cal from a scalper. On our trip we also went to two other games and bought great seats for Friday's WSU/Stanford (Pair 50.00); Saturday's UW/Cal (pair 50.00) and Sunday's Chargers/Raiders (pair 50.00) for a net savings of 10.00.
Stadiums never sellout anymore (except for Oregon's cute little stadium). So why not buy off the street and save the coin. I buy tacos in Mexico off the street, and some of you buy sex that way. It hasn't killed us yet.

Redundant. -
I stopped buying away tickets from UW in 2003. I was at OSU in the endzone first row with the band standing in front of me. I had to find 4 open seats higher up and move. I could see zero of the field. Only the back of a tuba player. Since then I have waited until the week of the game or game day. Always get great seats at a good price. At Asu in 2008 I walked up to the box office 30 minutes before the game and bought 200 level seats on the 45 yard line for $35. Same with bowl games.

Stop buying tickets from UW altogether then pop off.

I paid $8.00 each for tix to the Furd v. WSU and $26.00 each to UW v. CAL .
Being a good soldier doesn't pay.
I hear you can also buy poor quality weed on the Ave next to 7-11.

only bleenor buys tickets direct, and that's b/c he knows somebody DUH

What about for home games? I finally decided to catch a game in the new stadium (haven't been for a couple of years) and scanned craigslist for a pair of tickets. I arranged to meet a guy on QA Hill and when I got there the dude just looked shady and acted sketchy, and the tickets were printed on his printer... so I declined.
I was tempted to buy tix from the UW office just to make sure I'm not getting counterfeits but damn they are asking a lot of coin for 2 tickets.
I'm gonna try craigslist again, see if I can find somebody in Kirkland or Bellevue, those seem like less sketchy areas. -
Visitor sections always suck. And they gouge you on the price.
But for me, there's still something to be said for being surrounded by likeminded fans. And the median IQ seems slightly higher in UW "away" crowds than UW "home" crowds. -
In the 1980s I remember Husky fans taking over Autzen Stadium. Announced attendance would be 42,000, and there would be 12-15,000 Husky fans there.TTJ said:Visitor sections always suck. And they gouge you on the price.

With ticket barcode scanning and home printing, you really have to have faith in a scalper these days.
