    This

Cigarette is the best active coach going now. Kirby lost to an interim coach at a team he already beat this year. Bye teams are 1-7 with Cig being the 1. Indiana looked like a team coming off of a bye should look. Just complete domination

Lucky for us I imagine - Bama wasn't going to beat Oregon. Like I said all 3 B1G teams including Ohio State would beat them

And DeBoer still went 25-3 and Fisch still didn't. By beating Wisconsin this year Bama made the playoffs and won a game.

Completely agree on Cig. He is the best active D-1 head football coach.

DeBoer's 25-3 record at UW is impressive, but objectively it deserves to be tempered a bit. The retarded team of destiny tripped into a number of those wins. They were a very talented team that should have routinely dominated, but nowhere near as well coached as those Don James coached (high bar at UW). Likewise, DeBoer's Bama teams have been nowhere nearly as well coached as Nick Saban's were. And Cig just shoved his foot in DeBoer's ass on national TV in the Grandaddy of them all. 20-8 at Bama. That's decent but not great, especially given the pedigree of that program with incredible tradition and resources including access to the best talent in CFB. I think we're seeing who he is without BPE. A decent but not great coach. Similar tier to Fisch.

DeBoer is a rich man’s Neuheisel? Winning with existing talent and exposed when the he has to stay and recruit? Zero running game, leaning on spread passing schemes to get anything done?

Actually Bab's stepped up financially to lure Rick away from a Colorado program that still had some Bill McCartney prestige about it. If I recall correctly she made him one a very few seven figure head coaches at the time. Debore was hired away from mighty Fresno State. A lot less fanfare.

Chinteresting take though. Rick took over a granite hard program at UW, won early, but eventually turned it into a Charmin soft program better suited for SoCal. When he was hired I remember being disappointed as this is what he did at Colorado, and I rightfully assumed it would happen at UW. At least we got one or two good seasons out of him, much like with Debore. Debore likewise seems to be following that pattern at Bama. The team that got its shit pushed in last night (and at FSU in their season opener), was much tougher under Saban.

welcome to hell Alabama “but who would we hire” will be the rebuttal when everyone is told to accept soft defense and no running game.

Bama is going to bottom out

I suspect Nick Saban is speaking to his wife Terry about doing a full Bill Snyder. She may win that argument, and he may realize he's better off at his age without the headache, but I don't think he can take too much more of this.

Indiana is winning the natty. Nobody is beating that team, though I do love the idea of Miami making it to the natty to play against a Cuban-born QB who attended the same high school as Mario, and playing the damn game IN MIAMI! The media will have a field day but Cane ain't beating that Hosier. We? don't have the passing game and Cigaretti knows it and would box up on Fletch. Fucking Isiah Horton transferred out of Miami to play at Bama, which also turned out to be the wrong decision in a Twilight Zone series of events. He would be very useful to have on the roster right now.

Now on look-out for the apocalyptic meteor to hit the earth.

Oregon ran into generational Cam Newton, a generational Urban Meyer Buck team, and now the Miracle Hoosiers who are simply the best complete team in football

    Sad

    Kind of
