9 wins has quite the range of whether it was good for not. Go 8-4 and beat a mountain west team or an Oklahoma teams that has like 30 players sitting out isn’t the same thing as going 9-2 and losing the Rose Bowl.

5 P4 wins, 4 G6/FCS wins puts it in perspective

Yes. But people will still defend this by saying we won 9 games.

P4 wins don't count cause it was against Maryland. The Bowl win doesn't count cause it was a G5 champ. Illinois isn't a ranked win because we beat them and knocked them out of the ranking. Wazzu wasn't a road game cause it's in state.
The only teams that count as wins are Ohio state, Georgia and Indiana (but not even then cause they're a basketball school)
