When did you get hooked on crootin’?

About a year before Reggie Williams and ET committed. Also the local OL 5 star who retired early from a bad back. Also Rick's 7 WRs.

FWIW tho, this is the first year I've really not followed at all. Probably in part because I don't enjoy going on DM ever since Kim and Chris' latest divisive intolerance pogrom brought out all the suckups and flag wavers. It's all just too embarassing.
If anyone here knew anything I still probably wouldn't care anymore… realizing there aren't that many fall weekends left before I'm dead and I do love autumn. But I do still find myself watching the games if they're on later at night.

I think once the stupid Hayes Fawcett "edits" started was a good time to get out. I also don't understand why they started the Crystal Ball thing. It was more interesting to follow when you didn't know where the players were going to choose.

I used to get on dial up scrounging the internet for recruiting info. I think it was the class where we lost victor rogers to Colorado and I remember a class with a guy that was supposed to be great named Antonio cooks but I think he went to jail.
Prior to that I only had access to athlons preseason preview and review of each class. Or the newspaper list of recruits. My scientific method of determining how good someone could be by what their name sounded like brings back fond memories. I was convinced Lester towns would be great with no real info as a young doog.

I remember going over to my neighbors who had FoxSportsNW to watch Reggie hat fake UCLA then put on UW hat.
Lurked the free boards, never gave a dime to dawgman

I've always loved young brown people.

Probably 2001 to 2003. I feel like I stumbled on an article about a big time line recruit then I started searching the web and landed on 10.95 because that's where the info was. I think the early signing period has decreased intensity of it but also I think I still have PTSD from DeBoer leaving and the impact. Feels kinda futile at the moment. I also agree with Grandpa Race that it doesn't really matter unless the players produce. I appreciated Petersen recruiting because of that. Yeah he chased some stars but it was usually because Petersen is a great talent evaluator and prognosticator.

The name of that OL we're thinking of was Nathan Rhodes. Apparently he took a lot of recruiting hymens.
