Because the sport media is a corporate market-researched villain whose entire industry has been elevated by that corporate market-researched villain.

It's all Moore's Law, boss.
Moore's Law indirectly influences TV ad revenue for football by driving the technological changes that shift media consumption habits and advertising platforms. While the NFL's TV ad revenue remains strong due to the unique value of live sports, the underlying technology trends are creating a transition to streaming and digital advertising.Moore's Law and the Media Landscape
Moore's Law, the observation that the number of transistors on a microchip doubles approximately every two years, means that technology becomes more powerful and cheaper over time. This relentless technological progress has several consequences for the media industry:Enabling Streaming and Digital Platforms:The increased processing power and reduced cost of technology have enabled the rise of high-quality digital streaming services (like Amazon Prime Video,Peacock, and Netflix) and advanced mobile devices.Audience Fragmentation:Consumers have more choices for entertainment, leading to audience fragmentation and a decline in viewership for traditional, scripted TV content. This makes live sports, particularly the NFL, even more valuable to advertisers as one of the few remaining ways to reach a massive, live audience.Advanced Advertising Technology:The computing power driven by Moore's Law allows for sophisticated ad-targeting systems and data analytics, making digital ads highly effective and measurable.

Completely consistent with what a corrupt tacky fuckhead that odious sweatshop boss has always seemed to be.

If Bill Gates wanted to kick the UW football program $50 billion would the Tug forgive him for creating Covid and eating babies or whatever?

Not a chance.

Cash the check and then continue to tell sociopath Bill to fuck off
Win win. -
I just want to remind everyone in this den of Duck delirium that Race's post was hopeful satire that the left wing bananas at Oregon would once again flirt with alienating their benefactor because he contributed money to a few conservative politicians.
If making said contribution is consistent with being a tacky and odious fuckhead, count me in. Seems like a good move to me. That state, and my own, could certainly stand one or two more politicians that don't suffer from a mental illness.
