The Case for Franklin

A lot of people seem to be happy with hiring a fine coach.
-
I don't think he has a lot of West Coast recruiting ties.
I'm not excited about the idea, but it beats Fish, his Madden play calling, and losing to 2-6 teams.
-
Eck or Mora. Or maybe the Fresno or SDSU coach. But UW isn't looking for a new coach this year or next.
-
The only hope is that Chinn is on it and is secretly interviewing in case Judd decides to leave and is blown away by someone and just decides to fire Fisch and make a new hire.
It isn’t happening though. -
They enjoy it. Thats why they call the plays. If they weren’t calling the plays, they wouldn’t enjoy coaching. It’s too time consuming to be fully locked into everything else. I agree that the vast majority of the time, it’s to the detriment of the program.

Kiffin doesn’t call his own plays any longer. He gave that up a couple years ago but still interjects
-
Just read that. He says it’s made him a better game day coach. Who’d of think it?
-
I hear that but nothing feels as good as winning. It’s a weird hill to die on as a multi million dollar head coach IMHO.
-
Have always suspected it’s because they have no idea any other way to coach without that responsibility, meaning they aren’t real coaches.

What's Paul Hackett up to these days?
