The Huskies are in the playoff race

Also the road “loss” to Oregon *faggy wink

8-2 headed to UCLA sounds great and like a few others said the miracle comeback at Maryland felt like a loss we? wiggled out of. The Michigan 2nd half was a complete cluster fuck/meltdown and I believe the injuries and lack of depth caught up to us but ultimately that’s on the coaches.
If Jed can manage to beat beat UCLA and get to 9-2 many us that were ready to toss Jed’s couch overboard will take notice especially the issues we’ve had with the bruins over the years. New coach, New attitude?
It’s hard to imagine a scenario where everything comes together and we finish 10-2. This is the script: when we finally want to keep him, his playoff birth will most definitely mean he leaves for an SEC job, probably Florida.
Then next year, Race will complain about UW not caring about winning or being committed to winning football or paying the coach the necessary cash for him to stay (hard to argue against) and half the board believing his wife and kids were the reason he didn’t want to stay will take their side. I see both sides actually with Boner and Fisch. What a bad year to hire a new HC after all the carnage. 9-3 and I definitely want Jed to stay although I think he is gone either way.
-
At some point UW needs to pay the money to keep the coach. If Fisch goes 9-3 or better, pay him.
I think they would've paid DeBoer after 2023 but he didn't negotiate.
-
Bullshit
Pay the guy after the guy
Brilliant
Stop making excuses. You were one who wasn't sure 25-3 was worth the money
Let Fisch go too. Who cares?
-
Didn’t they renegotiate his original deal after season one? I wonder if this played a part in not busting the bank in his November 2023 original contract offer.
-
Haven’t heard you this optimistic since hearing Ty was a good guy
-
Never once did I say that
I said he didnt want to be here
Which is true
-
They re did the offer and it was 1 million behind Bama
Im sure they would've matched or beat Bama
DeBoer left them on read
-
I would take Franklin, crucify me.
-
Christ, you know it ain’t it easy.
-
So take the approach to watch the guy after the guy walk just so you don't pay the guy after the guy
As usual … you're full of shit
-
So…. @Doogles is in the back of a van with Yoko Ono eating chocolate cake?
-
You another admin honk who didn't want to pay Deboer
Your opinion is worthless as always
Save money and hire another cheap guy.
-
We need a link to the 81 past discussions of UWs inability to sign Deboer so we can stop the spread of AIDS
-
I'm trying to get some hot playoffs talk going
It's hard
-
Obviously the goal is to win a championship any year and that requires a playoff birth. That being said, creeping into the playoffs with a team you know has zero chance doesn’t excite me.
-
But it could be the difference between knowing Fisch has what it takes or doesn’t.
-
You don't want the FREEEEEE PUB?
Just getting to see Demond develop and see how he does against that level of competition at the end of the season in a huge road game would be nice.
-
I enjoyed the playoff in 16 more than the two major Bowls the next two years
Definitely rather take a shot at the playoffs th8s year than limp into the We Suck Bowl after 4 straight losses
-
Nothing like a Tuesday night before the game in El Paso 😮💨

All these fucking hypotheticals about keeping paying Jedd big bucks now are fucking aids.
I don't give a fuck if UCLA has an opening (plus sunshine) or if Florida has an opening (plus sunshine). You don't bet the future of the program on 6-2 with no 10 ft birdie putts made, Jedd.
There's a huge delta between his worth to the program between 8-4 and 10-2 and both are still very much on the table.
LIPO.

Here's the positioning I feel like Judd has based on the most realistic outcomes this month.
8-4 (lose to Oregon, probably UCLA, maybe Wiscy) - Doesn't deserve a raise/extension from UW. Might try to position the UCLA job to get one. Not sure what to do there. UCLA would still take him, probably.
9-3 (lose to Oregon) - Doesn't deserve a raise/extension, but agent can probably weasel UW into one. UCLA would take him.
10-2 - UW has to buck up. Would think Florida and any of the jobs open right now not called LSU could offer him.
I'd take a road playoff game, especially with the possibility you can get some paper tiger like a Big 12 team. I personally watched WSU basically play Ole Miss even in Oxford. Outside of Ohio State, Indiana, and possibly Bama, I'm not really scared of any of the teams around there, especially if UW can show they can beat Oregon.
-
This will be an unpopular take…
But I would almost prefer to see Washington knock off Miami or Tennessee in the Holiday Bowl (or whatever) to finish the season on a positive note and with double digit wins, than getting thrashed 41-10 by Georgia or Ole Miss in the first round of the playoffs. (And that is based on UW winning out the regular season, of course).
If I felt this team had a puncher's chance to go deep in the playoffs, I would see things differently of course.
-
What an unpopular take
-
Make the playoffs. Have a punchers chance.
That would be great experience for Demond as a sophomore.
Lot of work to be done. Win
-
Demond being sacked 14 times by Georgia would not be a great experience for him.
But yes, lots of work to be done… and games to win
-
As an old school person myself, I get the appeal, but I think in this era "making the playoff" is a feather you want in your cap (if you can get it). -
But is it old school? The Milwaukee Brewers made the National League Championship Series for the first time in like 42 years and got swept 4 games to 0. They will be remembered as losers.
-
(Technically they were in the ALCS in 1983)
-
I don’t think there's enough runway left for UW to make the playoffs.
The CFP rankings place UW too far back with too many other 2 loss teams ranked ahead.
Keep in mind that UW needs to finish in the top 10 to make the playoff. Not only does a G6 team take a spot, but it's very likely an ACC champ will finish outside the top 10. The highest ACC team is Virginia at #14. They suck, as do GT, Miami, and Louisville.
How can a 10-2 Washington make the CFP with only 1 decent opponent left on the schedule? I don't see it.
I think it more likely the B1G is only getting 2 teams this year.
